Too Faced Metallic Bunny Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick
For summer, Too Faced Meltallic Bunny Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a brightened, light-medium pink with cool, blue undertones and pink and gold shimmer. It had semi-opaque pigmentation where the natural lip color will come through to a small degree. The texture was lightweight, fairly emollient, but still applied evenly. This shade wore well for three and a half hours and wasn’t drying.
Too Faced Metallic Dream House (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned, less shimmery, darker. Chanel Ina (450) (P, $36.00) is warmer, darker. MAC Pink Poodle (By Request) (LE, $15.00) is darker, cooler-toned. MAC Quite the Thing! (LE, $17.00) is darker, less shimmery. Illamasqua Welt (P, $24.00) is darker, more matte. Estee Lauder Cosmic Pink (LE, $22.50) is darker. Chanel Extatique (P, $34.00) is darker, more matte. See comparison swatches

For summer, Too Faced Metallic Peony Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a light-medium pink with a mix of pink and gold micro-shimmer for a frosted, metallic sheen. It had good color coverage that went on evenly. It wore well for four hours and was neither hydrating nor moisturizing. On me, the gloss lasted for four hours and the shimmer does settle a bit over time. Revlon HD Petalite (540) (P, $8.99) is lighter. Too Faced Shimmering Spice Spice Baby (LE, $22.00) is darker, less glossy, warmer. NARS Stella (P, $26.00) is less shimmery. Bobbi Brown Ballerina Shimmer (12) (P, $26.00) is less shimmery. Marc Jacobs Beauty Heart Shaped (308) (P, $28.00) is less shimmery. MAC Fever Isle (LE, $20.00) is darker, less shimmery. Revlon Papaya (P, $7.49) is darker, less shimmery. NARS New Lover (P, $24.00) is less glossy, darker. Burberry Cameo Pink (P, $29.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
For summer, Too Faced Metallic Tu-tu Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium pink-coral with gold and pink shimmer. It was less metallic, though still pearly, with a glossy finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation but if you have more pigmented lips, you may still see the color change slightly. On me, it lasted for four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Chanel Marie (430) (P, $36.00) is darker, less glossy. Tarte Rare (LE) is lighter. Too Faced Shimmering Spice Spice Baby (LE, $22.00) is darker, warmer, less glossy. MAC Lip Blossom (P, $16.00) is lighter, brighter. NARS Stella (P, $26.00) is less shimmery. Bobbi Brown Ballerina Shimmer (12) (P, $26.00) is less glossy, lighter. MAC Morning Rose (LE, $16.00) is less glossy. Guerlain Cherry Blossom (P, $35.00) is less glossy. Pretty but the last two are too yellow for me I think. Metallic Bunny might work!
Fingers crossed for ya, Erin!
Christine: This is completely unrelated to this but Im new to this site and didn’t know how to contact you. I saw you did a review of MAC Lovely Lily pigment in 2008 (I know – a long time ago!) and there is a girl selling the pigment on Poshmark. Would you be willing to go on Poshmark.com, seach for MAC Lovely Lily and tell me if you think the pigment is real or fake? She says its authentic but it looks fake to me. Thank you so much!
I’m not an expert on MAC fakes, so I really don’t know 🙁 I just don’t feel comfortable saying if it is or isn’t given that I don’t have expertise there and then it could be! I would just feel terrible.
The gold shimmer in Peony is so beautiful! I really like Bunny too
It is!
While I was hoping for higher grades, I still think Peony and Tutu are gorgeous!
I wish they were A-territory!
Hi Christine, thanks so much for posting these! I definitely need Tu-Tu and Peony, they remind me of MAC’s old Chrome Glasses! Do you by chance know when they’ll be available at Sephora?
No problem, Vanessa!
Sorry, I didn’t get any info from Too Faced on these – just spotted them online at Too Faced/ULTA 🙁
Peony and Tutu look great on you!
Thanks, Katherine!
These would have been the stuff that dreams were made of for me back in 1987. When I was 12. I’m looking forward to trying this formula, though.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts once you get a chance to try, Carrie!
These are pretty, but metallic is a misnomer. I do love the gold shimmer in Peony. So pretty with the coral shade.
I wonder if they’re almost too glossy to be truly metallic.
Probably. Still gorgeous stuff, though.
I like Metallic Peony and Tutu. Such nice colors without being too bright!
They are nice springy shades!
I love Melted Tutu on you!
Aw, thank you!
love them all! lol..Some of these do seem to overlap a bit to me. Do you think so Christine?. It probably won’t stop me from eventually acquiring them all by the time summer appears in my neck of the woods. I just love melteds and these are like their little sisters.lol
I think Metallic Tu-tu is similar to Metallic Peony, it’s just lighter/less warm-toned, but the others seem more different than not! 🙂 http://www.temptalia.com/swatch-gallery?sg=192599,192598,192597,192510,192509,192373,192372,192371&lips=1
Oh, you didn’t have to go through the trouble of putting all those swatches together!Your such a doll! Now I want them even more seeing them all together! I totally can do that work if I needed. I was just wondering your observance opinion. Now, I am really ,really wanting all of these..like now. I do hope Sephora gets these up before the sale. Ulta has had them up since the beginning of the week!
They looks so fresh and pretty. I hope this metallic line is coming to Sephora in time for the sale.. yes please!
Fingers crossed!
Metallic peony is actually my new love, the colour is amazing. I must have it in my life
Hope you can try it, Maiko!
Oh I really like the look of Tu Tu. It probably needs to come home with me at some point.
I look forward to seeing if you get it 😀
I like the metallic look. In fact, I like Metallic Peony better than the regular Peony I own. And I really love Metallic Tu-tu. I don’t know what it is in the formula that makes it drying on me, but I wish I did know what it was. So I will have to pass on these but I love seeing the shades
I wish I knew, too 🙁
Peony is beautiful!
Agreed!
I like Tutu and Peony!
Yay! 🙂
I adore these three colors. But I don’t like this finish! (I know you said they weren’t) but to me they still look matte. Like a matte with a frosted/metallic-ness to it.
Aw!
Gorgeous colours! I just don’t know if I can ever get into frosted lips though.
Ah, well, maybe just admire from afar 😉
I really want metallic Bunny and metallic Peony, the shades looks o beautiful!!
They’re pretty!
Oh my gosh these All look so gorgeous on you!!! I realize they’re not as good as the original formula, but I’m loving the looks of metallic Debutante and Peony!!! So purdy.
Aw, thank you Bonnie!
I love the Metallic Peony and Metallic Tu-Tu! I hope one of those shades make it to Christmas bundle. 😉
That would be awesome 😀
Furiously trying to finish up a few lip products before buying a couple of these! Warm-toned medium pinks are a major weakness for me.
Go, go, go! Finish those up!
Hoping for this pretty little Bunny Melted Metallic to hop into my Easter shopping basket as soon as it arrives at Sephora! I actually prefer my lippies to be a bit translucent, so sometimes a B+ grade here is an A for me. If it performs like I think it will and isn’t drying, I’ll probably pick up the Peony Metallic, too, as I just can’t resist anything that looks like “Rose Gold”.
It’s all good! The way I look at grades is really a jumping off point, and since I try to explain the why, then each person can decide whether the “cons” are really cons! 😀
Keep me posted, Catherine! 🙂
Is it weird that I’m glad frosty lipsticks are poking their heads out again? I love these! Metallic Bunny reminds me a lot of MAC Bombshell.
Nothing wrong with it! 🙂
