Too Faced Honey Bear & I Want Candy La Cremes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Too Faced Honey Bear La Creme Lipstick
Too Faced Honey Bear La Creme Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark rosy plum with warm undertones and fine gold shimmer paired with a lightly glossy finish. It had a creamy, melty consistency that’s emollient and very comfortable to wear, but it does move around a little more than your average lipstick does. It lasted four hours on me, and it was particularly hydrating while worn. Tom Ford Beauty So Vain (50) (P, $57.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Neutral Rose (DC, $37.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Strip (DC, $22.00) is warmer (90% similar). Giorgio Armani #526 (P, $32.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Amor Prohibido (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Chanel Maggy (436) (P, $37.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Buxom Hooligan (DC, $21.00) is lighter, warmer, glossier (85% similar). Too Faced I Want Candy La Creme Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright, medium pink with warm undertones and a fine silver shimmer paired with a glossy finish. The texture was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and had a moderate slip. I saw that some color welled into my lip lines, but this wasn’t that noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The color lasted for four hours and was moisturizing over time. Estee Lauder Power Mode (410) (P, $32.00) is darker (95% similar). Guerlain Giulette (DC, $58.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Shiseido Crime of Passion (RD311) (DC, $28.00) is warmer (90% similar). Givenchy Rose Boudoir (204) (P, $36.00) is lighter (90% similar). Chanel Melodieuse (136) (P, $45.00) is brighter (85% similar). Revlon Snow Peach (LE, $8.49) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Too Faced Bon Bon (DC, $22.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Maybelline Coral Burst (740) (P, $7.49) is lighter, brighter, warmer (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Paradiso (07) (P, $55.00) is lighter (85% similar). Estee Lauder Blossom Bright (P, $30.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
(As a note, I Want Candy seems to be MIA from most retailers–I was able to find it still listed on Ulta, but it is out of stock, so I’m guessing it’s been discontinued.)
Formula Overview
Too Faced La Creme Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.11 oz.) is supposed to be a creamy, hydrating, and pigmented lipstick. The majority of the range has a signature texture: lightweight, creamy, moderately slippery, and feels like it melts against the lips. The color payoff varies from semi-opaque to fully opaque, though some of the glittery shades are sheerer (but packed with glitter). The formula is usually hydrating on me with average wear (about four hours).

I love Honey Bear. Wear it all the time!
Happy to hear it, Lily!
Aaaah, finally a review on the the elusive Too Faced Honey Bear! After seeing you rock this in so many photos, it’s been on my buy list forever, but was sold out every time there was a sale (must be good, right?). I finally snatched it during the last ULTA Platinum point sale, should be here this week, can’t wait. I’m planning to rock a bunch of bold eye looks this fall, and think this will go well with almost everything. BTW, you’ve listed Too Faced Honey Bear twice, the 2nd review should be for labeled I Want Candy
I’m so sorry for causing you confusion, Katherine! Thank you for letting me know!
That was my First thought, too. You often wear honey bear, Christine.
I also bought it because it always looked so good on your pictures. I was always thinking oh that is a nice colour she wears, and finally I got the idea that I Could scroll a Little bit more down and Look what colour it is. I saw you wearing that Lipstick very often until I got that idea. But now I also have honey bear. I Love the formula of These too faced lipsticks.
It pairs well with a lot of things, and I like the formula, so I keep it out for photos (I usually opt for the lighter/more neutral shade in what I need to photograph while doing blush/cheek color swatches but sometimes it’s all blue lipsticks, lol!).
I typed a comment then my computer died =__= Hopefully you don’t see it twice! But I think both of these shades look pretty and I wonder how they would look on my skin tone =) Especially Honey Bear! Wish I could hunt that one down.
Honey Bear should still be available 🙂
HONEY BEAR!!!! YAAAY!
Been waiting with baited breath for this review, because this has appeared to be yet one more perfect nude shade for me! Swatched it next to my UD Liar and they look quite similar in color, with Honey Bear having a much glossier shimmery finish. Liar, along with MAC Marque have been my go-to nudes for awhile. But that gorgeous finish in Honey Bear is drawing me in!
Marque is another great, wearable shade!
UD Liar is the first and so far only nude lipstick I can wear without looking completely zombified. Now I must see if Sephora have Honey Bear
I like them both! If only ULTA would notify me of Platinum points. I contacted them 3 times or more at the end of July, beginning of August. They assue me it’s fixed. They sent me a gift card for $10.00, missed my birthday, sent another email, they sent me an email for my bday gift and another gift card for the same. No notification of yesterdays premium points. Totally missed them. My gift card wouldn’t work on line. Beyond frustrated. Grrrr. Any suggestions? Sorry for the rant. ?
Have you tried adding Ulta to a safe sender list? I noticed some were going to spam, and after I unmarked them as spam, I started to get more of the Ulta emails.
I do receive the emails in response to my requests and I check my junk and trash folders. They aren’t there either. I will try to add them but I’m not sure exactly what the conventional email address is. I also have only received one snail mail in the past year. They are very nice but nothing helps.
I don’t know if you have more than one email address, but maybe update your account email to something new? Not sure 🙁
All checked and rechecked. Info correct.
Wish I could help more but I am out of ideas!
Me too. I appreciate your help and time though.
I love Honey Bear on you, so I went to try it and on me it looks blah, muted and nothing special. On you it looks like a million bucks! Why?!?!?
Aww! It could just be perception 🙂 There are things I don’t like on me but others do!
Both are beautiful. I know Honey Bear has quite the following.
I love the shimmer in it!
The shades are gorgeous!
I really like the Too Faced La Créme formula!
Me too! It is a solid formula!
Honey Bear is a great colour for you Christine – it just seems to suit all the different eye looks you put with it. I wouldn’t wear this shade myself – it is too pinkish for me, but looks fabulous on you.
It does! I think it’s a more “neutral” shade on me 🙂
I love this formula, honey bear looks amazing!
What are your favorite shades in the range, Leah?
I love Marshmallow Bunny! My other favourite is Naked Dolly.
I Want Candy…. both the lipstick and the candy. lol
I used up a tube of Juicy Melons so I’m a fan of coral/pink shades like this and it’s been a long time since I picked up a La Creme Lipstick. Most because my local stores don’t carry them anymore (they have only a half display of Too Faced products)
haha! I couldn’t believe it was discontinued. So quietly done!
Same with BON BON LA CRÈME which was another dupe from your list….. strange. I actually don’t own a dupe for this as it seems to be mostly high end for this shade of pink?!?!? 🙁
Honey bear looks great n you!
Thank you!
Ooooh these are pretty! And I think I’d like the formula, too.
I think you would!
Formula wise, do these remind you of the YSL volupte lipsticks (or maybe the volupte shine lipsticks)?
Too Faced’s La Cremes are not as thick in a way, and they sit better on the lips, I think.
Those both look great. I like the bit o’ shimmer in Honey Bear. I wonder if it would be too warm for me.
Honey bear is a great color. I noticed you wearing it in a few looks and fell in love so ordered it for myself. It’s definitely one of my favorites because it’s such a good neutral and the formula is awesome.
