Tom Ford To Die For Satin Matte Lip Color Review & Swatches
To Die For
Tom Ford Beauty To Die For Satin Matte Lip Color ($56.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a vivid, medium-dark pink-coral with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had just a subtle sheen that was quick to wear down to a soft matte finish within an hour.
The texture was smooth, velvety, and lightweight that was also thin, though not clingy, but it wasn’t the most flattering to wear as it settled a bit into my lip lines and wasn’t forgiving of imperfections in texture. It had semi-opaque color payoff that lasted for four hours and felt non-drying.

Formula Overview
$60.00/0.11 oz. - $545.45 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "full-coverage" in a "single stroke" that is "lightweight" and "long-wearing" that helps to smooth and keep lips hydrated over time. What sets this formula apart from other Tom Ford Lip Colors is the texture: it's velvety, smooth, and waxier without being heavy--it glided on easily but did not feel wet or traditionally creamy. It was very lightweight, comfortable to wear, and some shades definitely helped minimize my lip lines. They wore between four and six hours on me, and they were lightly to moderately moisturizing. They had a faint vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

A $56 price tag (a ridiculous $71 in Canada) should earn more than a B+ rating. I’d rather spend $18 on UD Tryst or even less for Milani (if this was a good colour for me, which it ain’t!).
I was just thinking the same thing…
I have a soft spot for Tom Ford and although I wish that for this price tag the rating would be excellent, I will buy it as I love pink-corals. I am excited to see your review on the new palettes to decide whether I will be purchasing them. Insolent rose is so lovely.
Nothing unique about the shade, I have dupes, plus the quality doesn’t sound all that wonderful, either. $’s saved yet again!
I love this packaging and not-so-secretly hope that a more mid-tier brand does something similar. Is it calling to me because I’m a millenial, who will forever be drawn to this shade of pink? Probably!
I don’t quite think that this is anything too special to warrant the price tag. I also think that the lack of a bullet head on the lipstick may make it harder to apply. It is a pretty coral shade, but there are lots around that are similar quality for a much lower price – eg Milani’s I am Happy.
