Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer
Here are the other four shades in the Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer ($49.00 for 0.10 oz.) range, which is a new and limited edition formula for spring. You can see the first four here. The funny thing about these is I think these should have been called “Lip Color Shines” and the actual Lip Color Shines (which came out previously and are permanent) should have been called “Lip Color Sheers,” as those are described as a “veil of color,” and are, in fact, sheer! These, however, are far more pigmented than either the name or formula description (“semi-translucent formula”) really let alone–you will see points deducted for being too pigmented (but if that’s what you’re after, just bump up the grades!). These four are quite pigmented and veer on mostly to fully opaque. For some, this is a good oops! but anyone actually expecting it to be as described may be disappointed. The formula itself is lightweight, lightly emollient (it glides on without tugging or dragging, but it doesn’t feather, migrate, or wear off quickly), moderately hydrating, and comfortable to wear. Like Tom Ford’s other lipsticks, they are vanilla-scented but did not have a noticeable taste.
I gotta tell you: these are flying off the virtual shelves–Nordstrom only has three shades left, but Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and Saks still have a good selection.
Sweet Spot (05) Lip Color Sheer ($49.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium orange-coral with subtle pink leanings and warm undertones. The finish is softly luminous. It had mostly opaque color coverage, which may be a happy accident for some, but it seems out-of-touch with the description of the new formula (not to mention the name). This shade lasted for four and a half hours on me. MAC Dreaming Dahlia (LE, $16.00) is very similar in color but slightly pinker and sheerer. Givenchy Croisiere Coral (310) (LE, $36.00) is more matte. Revlon Tutti Frutti (P, $7.49) is darker. NARS Dolce Vita (P, $25.00) is pinker, more matte. NARS Lodhi (P, $25.00) is slightly lighter, warmer. MAC Style Surge (P, $22.00) is very similar. MAC Ravishing (P, $16.00) is a smidgen lighter, pinker. MAC Razzledazzler (LE, $16.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches.
Firecracker (06) Lip Color Sheer ($49.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a vibrant, rich, orange-red with warm undertones and a luminous shine. It had really rich, opaque color coverage. It wore well for six hours. Givenchy Carmin Escarpin (306) (P, $36.00) is slightly redder. NARS Short Circuit (LE, $26.00) is a smidgen more orange. Dior Trafalgar (844) (P, $34.00) is very similar. Giorgio Armani #300 (P, $32.00) is less glossy. Urban Decay Bang (P, $22.00) is a smidgen lighter. Maybelline Orange Edge (LE, $7.49) is very similar. Maybelline Vibrant Mandarin (P, $7.49) is also very similar–slightly redder. Maybelline Neon Red (P, $7.49) is very similar. MAC Sail La Vie (LE, $16.00) is more matte. MAC Lady Danger (P, $16.00) is more matte. Buxom Rogue (P, $21.00) is very similar. See comparison swatches.
Paradiso (07) Lip Color Sheer ($49.00 for 0.10 oz.) is medium, warm-toned pink with a luminous shine. It had rich, opaque color coverage and wore well for five hours. Marc Jacobs Beauty Shout (138) (LE, $30.00) is darker, warmer. Guerlain Attrape-Coeur (171) (LE, $35.00) is a smidgen darker. YSL Caress Pink (9) (P, $34.00) is lighter. MAC Love Beam (LE, $20.00) is darker. Charlotte Tilbury Coachella Coral (P) is warmer, more matte. Givenchy Rose Taffetas (201) (P, $36.00) is lighter. MAC Hoop (DC, $16.00) is lighter, more matte. MAC Elegant Accent (P, $22.00) is slightly darker. MAC Watch Me Simmer (LE, $16.00) is brighter, warmer. MAC Heart to Heart (LE, $16.00) is pinker, darker. MAC Force of Love (LE, $16.00) is lighter, pinker. See comparison swatches.
Tom Ford Incorrigible (08) Lip Color Sheer ($49.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a brightened, medium-dark fuchsia pink with mostly opaque color that was slightly translucent, so the natural lip color came through. The color wore well for five and a half hours. The texture of this one was slightly more emollient than other shades. MAC Heavenly Hybrid (LE, $16.00) is more muted, less fuchsia. MAC Feeling Amorous? (LE, $20.00) is less cool-toned. MAC Pleasurefruit (LE, $17.00) is less fuchsia, pinker. Givenchy Croisiere Fuchsia (309) (LE, $36.00) is purpler, more muted. Revlon Fuchsia Shock (P, $7.99) is brighter. Revlon Lollipop (P, $7.49) is cooler-toned, darker. MAC Lickable (P, $16.00) is pinker. Buxom Exhibitionist (P, $21.00) is brighter. See comparison swatches.

Ughhh I love all of these! You wear them all so well!
Thanks a lot, J! 🙂
I like these a lot better, but I’ll be honest, they are a little more than I want to spend on a lipstick.
Nothing wrong with that! It’s a lot to spend on a single product!
now i’m in trouble…i love all of these!
Uh oh!!
Incorrigible and Pardiso…I didn’t think I would like the white packaging so much..it actually looks quite nice!
I think I’m partial to the brown, but I know a lot of people were sad to see the white packaging go away!
Out of these, I’m most drawn to Sweet Spot. Checked out the dupes to find Dreaming Dahlia…I have a date with Mac on Saturday to try it! Guess we know what I like 😉
Ooh, hope Dreaming Dahlia works out for you, Jenn! 🙂 Much more affordable!
A lot to spend on lipstick, but the higher pigment in these is definitely up my alley. I just love intense colors so much!
You’re not alone!
Paradiso and Sweet Spot are my favourite shades! They’re a little bit on the pricey side though and reminds me a lot of the Givenchy Le Rouge formula. How comparable do you think these two brands/collections are?
I don’t think the formulas are alike – Le Rouge is thicker and creamier!
Sweet Spot looks stunning on you !
Thank you, Anne-Sophie! 🙂
Oh my goodness those last three!! Gorgeous!!
Any making your wish list?
These are all stunning on you – jealous!! 😀
My favourites are Incorrigible and Paradiso, particularly the former just for its name/colour combination 😉
I thought Incorrigible was a nice name for a lipstick!
Sweet Spot is my favorite on you! You look gorgeous! Paradiso and Incorrigible are super pretty
Aw, thanks, Fancie! I bet Incorrigible would look amazing on you!
Great swatches and review! It helped me pick out my favorites so I could narrow down which ones to get =) Ended up with Paradiso, Firecracker, and Incorrigible! Love them!
Nice picks, Jenny! Enjoy!
These are really pretty! They are pretty colorful for sheer lipsticks.
Agreed — they are not sheer at all!
I am loving the last 4 shades!!!!! 🙂
Yay!!
These are gorgeous! I think I’m going for Firecracker and Paradiso. Looks like I’m the one who has a bit of shopping to do now, Christine. 😉
Have fun, Precious! 🙂
Hi Christine,
How does Firecracker compare to True Coral and Wild Ginger? I have both already and don’t know if I need another similar colour. It is gorgeous though!
Also, how do the pinks (Paradiso and Incorrigible) compare to Flamingo and Violet Fatale?
Thanks!
Hi Vanny,
Sorry, I do not have Wild Ginger or Flamingo! True Coral is a cream finish, and it is lighter – it is not as orange or as red, as it’s more of a coral. Violet Fatale isn’t like either Paradiso or Incorrigible.
Love the lipsticks and the eyeliner!
The eyeliner is one of my faves!
Hi Christine, between Guerlain Attrape-Coeur & Paradiso, which one that feels more moisturizing?
Thanks! 😉
Guerlain for me!
These all look great on you, I wish they weren’t so expensive!
Don’t we all 🙂
Sweet spot and paradiso are perfect <3 I love the firecracker color as I like orange-reds on me and the incorrigible one is pretty too, not too cool for a fuchsia :))
Yeah! I like how Incorrigible isn’t super blue-based!
Ah! Forget what I said earlier, Incorrigible is on my list!
haha!
WOW! All of these are insanely beautiful. I didn’t love the shades as much from Part 1 – but these are amazing! Firecracker is probably my favorite if I *had* to choose.
These will definitely appeal more to those who wanted opaque color!
Pretty lipsticks. I love them all.
Yay!
Did you notice Paradiso to be streaky? Its extremely streaky on me!
Hey Vidhu!
I didn’t!
Hi Christine! Do any of these lipsticks contain shimmers? Thanks! 🙂
They all have to seem to have very, very fine shimmer to a degree… Incorrigible with the most.
Hi Christine! Is the Tom Ford Firecracker the same with Nars Heatwave?
I don’t have Heatwave, sorry!
