Tom Ford Quiver Lip Color Shine Review, Photos, Swatches
Tom Ford Quiver Lip Color Shine
Tom Ford Quiver Lip Color Shine ($48.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a slightly warm-toned, medium pink with a warm golden shimmer and a luminous, lightly frosted finish. Chanel Paradis doesn’t have the same golden shimmer. Chanel Flirt is lighter, less shimmery. Dior Candide is lighter, less warm-toned. Guerlain Rose Ensoleil lacks the gold shimmer. Le Metier de Beaute Fiji is a satin (no shimmer). Revlon Cotton Candy is a paler pink but has golden shimmer. NYX Stella is slightly warmer but similar in color to the base color of this shade (no gold shimmer). See comparison swatches here.
It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage when I applied to my lips; you can only see a shadow of my lip freckle, but the formula is lightly translucent so some of the natural lip color will come through. The Lip Color Shine formula is supposed to hydrate, add shine, and some color–but it isn’t an opaque formula, so the pigmentation is in line with what the brand has touted the formula as. The consistency is lightly creamy–a cross between a balm and lipstick–and glides across the lips easily without pulling or tugging while feeling comfortable to wear. Quiver lasted four hours on me, which is average for a lipstick, but it is slightly longer than formulas with similar balmy consistencies. It was very hydrating, which is probably it’s biggest selling point (at this price point). It is vanilla scented but has no discernible taste.

I find this absolutely stunning, and I know I would wear the heck out of it, but I just don’t think I could justify the $48 for a this type of lip product. I could justify buying TF’s “Gigolo” or “Lovelust” which are both up there in price. This product just doesn’t seem to merit the high pricetag.
Not thrilled with the color–seems very unoriginal and dupeable–but the formula sounds up my alley. if I ever break down and buy Tom Ford, I might start with this line.
That is not a lipstick worth $48, IMO. Chanel’s Pygmalion is much more interesting, and $14 less expensive. If a lipstick is going to out-price Chanel, it better be a darn impressive lipstick, and this doesn’t fit the bill.
Exactly
This looks a lot like Clinique’s Pink-a-Boo.
I am really enjoying the sheer glossiness of the new TF lip shines this year and have Quiver as well. I’m normally more of a fan of opaque lipstick, but somehow this finish is working for me and when not wearing brights, I’m gravitating to these. Yes, they are ridiculously expensive, but the formula is really lovely. I’m going to go through this product in colour Bare in a heartbeat. I wear it all the time. So, I justify the expense that way. This is a product I wear all the time and not another lipstick hanging out in the bin getting used once in a blue moon.
IMO, if you wear it and use it up – it is absolutely worth it. I imagine there are certainly shades we spend $20-30 on and wear only a handful of times in a year!
I’m not a fan. It looks kind of clumpy/uneven in the swatch and that in unacceptable in something this expensive.
It looks much prettier in the tube than on. Much bluer than I would have thought.
And $48? Really.
I love the color but that shimmer part I sort of dislike!
I will say that I love Tom Ford……I have 2 of his lipsticks….Indian Rose & my favorite fuchsia “Aphrodisiac” The formula is amazing and they last for hours…..the price is insane, but as Christine says, how many less-expensive lipsticks do we purchase that we never really use-up? While I’m not running to purchase the entire TF line, the 2 lipsticks I have I certainly love and wear
Hi Pamela: I have a large TF lipstick inventory. It really is my holy grail of lip product. Guerlain Rouge G’s are very nice, but somehow the TF formula has better coverage and lasting power on my lips. I just wanted to point you towards the colour Flamingo as another fantastic possibility and yeah I love being an enabler too 😀
Ughhh I hate Tom Ford. I mean, I love Tom Ford. ALL of his products are amazing and gorgeous and wear perfectly, but he’s sooooo expensive. So every time you post an awesome product like this, a little part inside of me dies. (Over dramatic much?) But really, when I finish clinicals, all of his makeup goodies will be in my handbag!
This color is cute, but I expected it to be a bit more vibrant.
Is it worth the $48!
I just got a Tom Ford lipstick in Flamingo and I love it because of how pigmented and long-wearing it is. However, I really doubt I would buy one from their sheer/shiny range because I suppose paying $50 for a sheer lipstick crosses the line for me. Looks great on you Christine though!
Looks great on you, Christine!
This shade looks so pretty! I’m thinking it would go well on Asian skin tones. If only Tom Ford lippies didn’t cost that much!

I was just wondering with all the new site updates if that’s why I can no longer access your site from my mobile phone, only my tablet or computer. Even the Interest links send me straight back to Interest instead of your site. It is possibly for the best. I am overly addicted to your site and all the pretties.
Hi Michelle,
What device are you using? We’ve tested on both Samsung Galaxy S3 (I think that’s it – but it is a Galaxy and Android-based phone) as well as iPhone and there’s full functionality. We haven’t disabled access from mobile browsers.
A little cool toned for me. Although it does look so lovely in the tube
