Tom Ford Meteoric Eye Color Quad Review & Swatches
Meteoric
Tom Ford Beauty Meteoric Eye Color Quad ($88.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a “new” palette that featured two sparkly eyeshadows, one matte eyeshadow, and one satin eyeshadow. The shade has some overlap with past releases by the brand that it feels less like a new addition to the range and more of random launch you’d see for a retailer-exclusive. The sparkly shades have some fallout and need to be built up for higher coverage, while the fourth shade was stiffer than ideal.

Meteoric #1
Meteoric #1 is a sparkling, light-medium beige base with lighter, silvery sparkles running through it, which gave it a lighter appearance when applied to my skin. The texture was soft, almost spongy when pressed with a fingertip–airier and more cushion-like than the brand’s typical sparkle eyeshadows (which are emollient but firmer).
It had semi-opaque coverage applied dry, which could be built up but was better applied with a dampened brush for full coverage, if desired. This shade lasted for eight hours with light fallout over time.

Meteoric #2
Meteoric #2 is a very light mauve with strong,w arm undertones and a bluish-silver sparkle throughout. It had good color payoff in a single pass, which could be built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer more. Applied with a dampened brush or fingertip, it was more opaque in one layer.
The texture was soft, more yielding and almost sponge-like, compared to other sparkly shades by the brand (but definitely not a cream product!). It wore well for eight hours with slight fallout over time.

Meteoric #3
Meteoric #3 is a medium, rosy brown with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was soft, lightly powdery in the pan but very finely-milled and blenable. It had opaque color coverage that sheered out slightly to more semi-opaque coverage when applied without primer. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Meteoric #4
Meteoric #4 is a medium brown with subtle, warm undertones and a satin sheen. The texture was firmer, stiffer to work with, which made picking up product more challenging. I noticed that the sheen was less pronounced once applied and diffused on my lid. It had semi-opaque color payoff that needed to be layered in order to achieve full, even coverage. This shade lasted decently for seven hours on me before fading noticeably.

While I love the color story a lot, it is one that I can VERY easily dupe with what I have here. For $88, this ought to be of outstanding quality and a flawless performing quad. And it just isn’t.
Now this is a very pretty combo; however, I would in no way pay over $80 for this. So dupable. That said, it does inspire me to find dupes.
I bought this palette and I’m torn on it. The sparkle shades for me are what make it worth it- I don’t have many toppers that give that effect. But I am disappointed for the price that shade 4 is so stiff and adds so little to the palette. Wish I picked a better intro palette to the brand!
I always hope for more with Tom Ford. ?
As hard as I try I want to love this palette, but, I’m underwhelmed. I’ve recently purchased a few Tom Ford quads. Fortunately, Meteoric is the only one I’ve paid full price for and is my last. For some reason they never stay on my lids even though I prime. I enjoy Pat, Natasha, Charlotte & Viseart more and don’t have the fading issues. I’ve recently tried Sydney Grace and Give me Glow, both are great. There’s just no reason to give Me Ford anymore of my money.
I like the first two shades – I thought they are very subtle and sophisticated, but the last two are average in colour and performance.
