Tom Ford Lips & Boys Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is segmented into color families, and this post features the “corals to oranges.”

Presently, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Saks are both accepting pre-orders for the Lips & Boys collection; they officially release on December 26th (and will also be at other retailers and Tom Ford’s website at that time). Nordstrom also put up various trios (no savings, they’re $96 each) for pre-order. Neiman Marcus has a gift card event thorugh 12/16 that includes the Lips & Boys.

The Lips & Boys shades seem a lot smaller than the full-sized Lip Colors in their tubes, but in terms of actual product, it’s 0.07 oz. vs. 0.10 oz. These are actually cheaper by the ounce at $457.14/oz. compared to $500/oz. for full-size. I liked that the packaging felt the same as full-sized, just smaller, but it didn’t feel cheapened. The bullet of lipstick itself was also wide enough at the base that it didn’t feel really skinny or difficult to use, and it wasn’t prone at breaking at the base as some miniature-sized lipsticks are.

Luca Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a muted, coral-orange with a frosted finish. It had a light shine to it but wasn’t really glossy or luminous. The consistency was lightly creamy and applied fairly easily, but some of the color pulled into lip lines early on. It had semi-opaque color coverage and lasted for three and a half hours on me. It was neither drying nor hydrating. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Matthew Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a brightened, coral-pink with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. There’s a very subtle hint of silver/white pearl. The color was richly pigmented, comfortable to wear, and lasted for five hours while being hydrating over time. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Adriano Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a brightened, medium-dark coral with a hint of pink and a luminous shine. It is very close to being orange, but there’s this tint of pink that is really visible (particularly against orange lipsticks)–which is actually what makes it a little more unique. It had fully opaque pigmentation that went on beautifully and lasted for five and a half hours on me. This was comfortable to wear and moisturizing while worn. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Tomas Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a brightened, medium-dark orange-red with lighter copper shimmer and a subtle, metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, but there’s a definite translucency that allows the natural lip color to come through. It had a thinner, more emollient texture compared to the less shimmery shades in the range (like Adriano), which made the color glide on easily. The color wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Rafael Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a brightened, medium orange-red with warm undertones and a luminous finish. It had intense color payoff and covered lips fully. The consistency was creamy, moderately hydrating, and easy to wear. This shade stayed on well for six hours. It is a very dupable shade, though. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

There are some lovely colours in this collection! I’m wondering what the price will be if and when these are released in the UK.

I’m a lipstick fiend and need no more lipstick but I can’t help but buy more due to subtle differences in colour and texture etc. I’m admiring Rafael because I’m not sure that I have that particular shade in my collection and I have none of the dupes. However, at last count I have 38 red lipsticks so even if I don’t have that exact shade do I really need it? To buy or not to buy- dilemma. 🙁

I did recently purchase an orange lipstick, Clarins Rouge Eclat in Juicy Clementine, to fill that particular gap but Rafael looks to have more red in it.

I’m now looking at Adriano as well and I also checked on the Selfridges website and the lipsticks will be available from 25th December. I get paid two days before…I see myself succumbing to more than one of these but I don’t like to spend that kind of money without being able to try before I buy. There’s a Tom Ford counter near where I work but I don’t know if it’ll be an online only thing or if the counter will have the collection as well.

Thomas is so cool! I might be interested in Luca. On you it looks like a beautiful nude. Do you think it would look like a nude on a pale person? Or would it look more obviously peach/orange.

Ah, Christine, you know you always look so undeniably flawless and every lip color dazzles on you! But… Yeah, Matt names are an AVOID for me.. Michael, Matt, Mattew, Mike, John, James, Patrick, Julian, Collin, oh wow, I feel like a slut, let it rest that there are more yet.. Only a few are safe.. And dupes! I thank you for them! These reviews of the 50 boys have been intriguing as well as the many MUFE artist shadows! 😀 Maybe collectioms of massive amounts will become a trend! 😛 Your hubbie may need to search as well! Lol! 😀 But seriously, how would you handle that?

thank you for your wonderful dupe lists, Christine – they are so helpful when I see a shade I like on you but don’t want to spend a lot to get. Your coloring and mine are very similar, so it’s even easier to get an idea of shades.
I love your blog!
