Hot shower – it’s one of the few times of the day where I’m not checking email, LOL! Otherwise, a hydrating mask! 🙂

I like to prepare a day centered around colors, textures, organic foods, perhaps great conversation with loved ones, perhaps a movie, herbal tea, and a thorough cleansing of my entire body, head to toe, special face pampering, positive affirmations, meditation, selenite lamps, Nag Champa, music, and herbs. 🙂 Relaxation is the utmost in my pampering myself when I usually have handfuls of chaotic tasks to tend to. It helps keep me balanced! 😀

I agree with the hot shower, and citrus body scrub to get get my skin smooth and clean. So relaxing…. Oh, sorry for getting off-subject, but on Dec 15, I posted 2 comments to the Revlon Ultra HD Lip Gloss reviews, but only 1 of them got posted. Was wondering if you saw the 2nd one?

My favorite way is doing something that I haven’t done in years: going into a salon and having somebody other than me do my hair! And I mean the works, too. Shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, trimmed and shaped, blown out, flat-ironed. Oh yeah!

Once a month I get a facial and I do a hydrating mask at least once a fortnight. I do my nails twice a week, but that’s more work-required than pampering! To make it a little more luxurious, I’ll sometimes exfoliate up to my wrists then use my Aesop hand balm after painting. Helps to face any weird tanning between my fingers!

Mask and a shower in the middle of the night. I just ran out of hot water today and had to hopscotch out of there. And it’s the middle of the night so I can’t even ask someone to fix it lol!

I live in the San Gabriel Valley just east of Los Angeles and there are tons of $15 Chinese foot massage places — for $15 you get an hour long massage. No frills, you keep your clothes on, they massage your back and shoulders as well as your feet, and you are in a large room with other people getting their massages but for the money, it’s the best beauty bargain in town! I try to go at least once a week, it’s a sanity saver as well as beauty treatment.

Funnily enough, I never really pamper *myself* when it comes to beauty – it’s always getting a foot massage or a pedicure from the wizard (my husband) LOL! 😀

If we had a bathtub, it would be a scented bath…in a tub big enough for the wizard to hop in too and give me a foot massage at the same time, Muahahahah! 😉

If I’m treating myself at home, I’m crazy for a relaxing hot shower as well. If I’m spending money, it’s a toss up between getting a pedicure or getting a massage.

Having a bath using my favourite body products – Natio has a great line in body scrubs, moisturizing body creams and cleaners (the spa range). Then wearing my favourite clothes, doing my makeup and meeting friends for dinner (no cooking or dishes). Reading a good book or watching a DVD is also a great idea too.

At home, hot shower, and a facial.
If I can get someone else to do it a Pedicure! followed up with a girl night with my cousin and dinner a great little sushi place that we both love!

I look forward to my REN Glycol Lactic Mask routine every Sunday… I just started with their Radiance line and love it! I gently exfoliate with their Micro Polish Cleanser, then apply the mask. Just relax for 10 minutes, then wipe it off with a warm washcloth. Layer on my Radiance serum and moisturiser. It really invigorates and refreshes me for the week! Not to mention it helps my skin more and more each week!

Oh, a hot shower for me too! I also love hair cuts with a hairstylist who knows what she’s doing (especially when they wash my hair!). I count yoga, exercise, hikes, sleep, and massages as beauty-pampering bc I always feel beautiful and rejuvenated afterwards.

I rarely get to do it, but I love to get the works at the nail salon. I love to get my nails done extra fancy, get the full spa leg message/pedicure with the warm stones and sea salt soak (I can’t use the massage chairs anymore, thanks to the idiot who rear-ended me a couple years ago and messed up my back), eyebrows and lip waxed. I come out a couple hours or so feeling relaxed and glammed up.

At home there is constant interruptions, so I’m lucky to grab a shower and get to put my makeup on.

Going to a restaurant, by myself, and having someone else do the cooking & cleaning! I find little gaps throughout the day to do little “beauty necessities”, and none of them take a long time (if they do, I’ll multitask-ie, a face mask while doing a pedicure), but a nice quiet meal on my own time is a rare treat…

First Friday night of the month ritual, just because that works for me (divorced, cancer-survivor, 65 yrs old) –> nice, warm, late bath before bedtime with some sort of scented potion, then the pillows, sheets and comforter sprayed with my current favorite scent. (This month-Serge Luten’s Amber Sultan!) Have some relaxing (classical?) music playing quietly in the background. Pour a glass of wine to relax and enjoy, if you desire. Massage and moisturize feet with freshening cream, anti-fungal if needed. Apply cuticle cream to fingertips and gently rub in. Before retiring, (the most important part!) give your beautiful ‘girls’ a self-exam. Sleep well.

I like getting ready to go somewhere you want to look nice and you finally have the products that puts your best face forward, usually a new lipstick…where you’ll feel flawless. I’m still searching for the PERFECT lipstick for my tan skin and green eyes, but I’m close with my new maybeline Drive Wine Matte…

For me it’s putting on sheet mask while watching TV or reading. It calms me down and keeps my face from freaking out from the weather changes. Christine, what masks do you like? Clay masks, sheet masks? I really like the LEADERS Insolution sheet masks – they have so many options and they’re so good!
