Tom Ford Liquid Sky Soleil Glow Drops Review & Swatches
Liquid Sky
Tom Ford Beauty Liquid Sky Soleil Glow Drops ($50.00 for 0.47 oz.) is a translucent, soft gold with fine pearl. The consistency was a thinner, watery gel that was spreadable with enough slip that it had more substance than pure water. As a standalone highlighter, it added soft shine with fine, but a healthy amount of, shimmer, and a hint of warmth to my cheekbones. I used my fingertips to pat the product onto my cheek bones and gently diffused with a duo-fiber cheek brush. When I tried testing it over a liquid foundation, it did not seem to lift up my base if I was gentle and careful, but if I used my fingertips, I felt like there was a bit of lifting.
I liked it mixed in with my liquid foundation to give a dewier finish to my base, though I did not see it add any noticeable tint/warmth to my base (but someone who is very pale might see it come through). As far as liquid highlighters go, this was one of the more “potent” options in terms of amount of shimmer packed in each droplet. It dried to a more powder-like finish (didn’t feel tacky, nor did it feel clingy on my skin) within 30 seconds of blending and diffusing the product out on my skin. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$50.00/0.47 oz. - $106.38 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "translucent" and to give a "soft-focused, diffused glow" whether mixed in with foundation or applied to the high points of the face. It has a watery, slightly gel-like consistency that's thinner but easily spread with a quick dry down that sets in place, so it doesn't break down too easily.
It was easier to use with a brush when applying it over a base for spot highlighting, whereas fingertips worked well when it was used over bare skin or when mixed with a foundation or moisturizer. The shimmer was fine but not so subtle that the effect got lost, particularly when used alone or with more medium-coverage products. The formula stayed on well for eight to nine hours on me. I didn't notice any scent while wet or dry.

I love this a thousand x’s more than I expected based on the arm swatches! It literally gives your cheeks a glass-like “wet” look that doesn’t look like real shimmer, but glossy. Hard to put into words, obviously!
I do really like its subtlety, but not $50 worth of like.
