Fetishist

Tom Ford Beauty Fetishist Lip Lacquer Liquid Matte ($54.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a deep red with subtle, cool undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer. The liquid lipstick had a smooth, lightweight, and thin consistency that wasn’t watery, so it applied evenly and had a fair amount of coverage. The dry down didn’t take too long, and it didn’t seem prone to emphasizing my lip lines (but didn’t smooth them out either–occasionally matte, liquid lipsticks can do this), but after it had dried down, it was noticeably tight and clingy on my lips. It was uncomfortable to wear, though it certainly lasted a very long time–it was still going strong after eight hours–but left my lips feeling dry after six hours of wear.

Formula Overview

$54.00/0.09 oz. - $600.00 Per Ounce

The matte formula is supposed to be "feather-light" with "concentrated color" that is a "fade-resistant, full-coverage velvet matte." It is supposed to "smoothing moisturizers" in it, though I'd say the matte version of the Lip Lacquers isn't very moisturizing in any way. The formula was quite pigmented, certainly "feather-light," and very long-wearing, but they clung noticeably to lips and made my lips feel tight throughout wear, which made it an uncomfortable formula to wear. The dry down took 15-30 seconds on my lips (but took forever on my arm!) and typically dried down to a fairly smooth finish and didn't seem prone to "cracking" or separating around my lip lines. They lasted over eight hours but were drying on me.

Pussycat

Tom Ford Beauty Pussycat Lip Lacquer Liquid Matte ($54.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. The texture was smooth, thin, and fluid initially going on, and it had a longer dry down time when I applied it on my arm (swatches were taken after 10 minutes) but was more typical in dry down (15-30 seconds) on the lips. It has a really clingy dry down, though, that felt immediately drying on me and made my smile look stiffer as my lips just didn’t have the same flexibility as normal. The liquid lipstick wore exceptionally long–still was going strong after eight hours–and was one of the harder-to-remove formulas I’ve come across. It was moderately drying over time, though it wasn’t comfortable to wear at all (I expected it to leave my lips feeling much worse than they actually felt in the end).

Oh dear, how I wish Pussycat hadn’t been so drying and clingy that it actually is noticeable. You know? Because cats! Silly, I know. But considering that one of my all-time favorite lipsticks ever is named “Catfight”, one oughtn’t be surprised, right? ?

Anyway. The formula on these sound more like a torture device than a luxury lipstick. Skipping!
