Tom Ford Black Out Nail Lacquer ($35.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a deep, gray-black with very fine silver shimmer paired with cool undertones. Color Club Show Time (P, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). L'Oreal Drop Dead Gorgeous (P, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). Illamasqua Creator (P, $17.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Batty (P, $10.00) is more shimmery, darker, glossier (90% similar). Chanel Cosmic (LE, $28.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition (LE, ) is more shimmery (90% similar). Rescue Beauty Lounge Fashion Polish (LE, $20.00) is warmer (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

It was nearly opaque in a single coat, though I applied two for good measure. The consistency was not too thick or too thin, so it flowed easily across the nail with even coverage and didn’t gather along the edges. I didn’t notice any brush strokes, bubbling, or unevenness, and the shimmer is so fine that the nail feels completely smooth once everything dries down. I think that the shimmer is almost too fine, because it does get lost in the strong black base; it almost provides more of a break in the way it looks as far as texture goes than being a shimmery shade. On me, the polish wore well for seven days with minor tip wear but no chipping.

I honestly love the softening effect of the silver shimmer particles! This is great to see, because I have a gorgeous $2 dupe, Electric by Pure Ice that lasts a good 5-6 days before it gets icky-looking. However, the Color Club version would probably wear like iron based on how my other CC np wears.
