Bare Assed

Tom Ford Beauty Bare Assed Gloss Luxe ($57.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy plum with subtle, warm undertones and a dusting of gold shimmer/micro-sparkle throughout a high-shine finish. It had semi-sheer coverage, which seemed in line with the brand’s marketing, that applied evenly across my lips. The texture was smooth, plush, and like a gel-like cream, as it was thicker but not heavy, and it smoothed out almost all of my lip lines and gave the illusion of fuller lips. It wore well for three and a half hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

$57.00/0.24 oz. - $237.50 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "sheer-to-medium coverage" with a hydrating base that feels like a "liquid balm." The impressive feature of the formula was the smooth, cushion-like consistency that was spreadable, plush, and comfortable to wear with no tackiness.

The plushness helped the colors apply evenly and make the shades more forgiving of lip texture and lip lines, which gave the illusion of fuller, smoother lips overall (given how shiny the glosses were, too). The coverage was sheer-to-medium, depending on the shade, but they definitely imparted sheerer coverage overall.

The shades I tested lasted between three and four hours and were very hydrating to wear. There seemed to be a faint, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Honeyed Coral

Tom Ford Beauty Honeyed Coral Gloss Luxe ($57.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy plum with flecks of gold and pink sparkle throughout. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in a single layer, which was in the range the brand described, but there was a bit of product that seemed to sit in my deeper lip lines a bit. In person, this wasn’t noticeable as the gloss was quite shiny and the sparkles camouflaged the effect.

I thought it was interesting how the consistency seemed to soften and smooth out a lot of my lip lines despite a bit of darkening in the deepest ones. It had a smooth, non-sticky consistency that was plush, more like a gel-balm, and comfortable to apply and to wear. The gloss lasted well for three hours and was moisturizing while worn.

The first one is lovely, and the name makes me giggle – even though I don’t really like cheeky names, that one has me snickering like an immature 3rd grader.

Might have to get it. Although I still don’t wear many glosses. Thanks, masks!
