theBalm Down Boy Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

theBalm Down Boy Blush

theBalm Down Boy Blush ($21.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “baby pink.” It’s soft, light-medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. MAC Pure Femininity is darker, less blue-based. theBalm Argyle is warmer. MAC Peony Petal is cooler-toned. MAC I’m the One is similar, slightly darker. Bobbi Brown Nude Pink is similar. See comparison swatches.

The texture of the blush was soft, finely-milled, and silky to the touch. It then applied evenly to the skin, and then blended out easily. The color can be applied as true-to-pan color with rich pigmentation or more softly and built up to a lighter flush. Down Boy wore well for eight and a half hours, and after nine hours, it started to show faint signs of fading. It is a lighter color, so if you have a medium or darker complexion, it may not be the best of theBalm’s blushes–unless you want something very subtle!

This blush looks great, especially on you! You always look nice in your photos but I think this one is especially great, it gives you such a nice glow it makes me want to buy it!

I’m generally not a fan of baby pink (i always think it tends to look too barbie-ish) but this one has the softness of flush without the chalkiness. Lovely, i will have to look this one up.

I love my blushes from theBalm! For anyone who wants a darker pink, Cabana Boy is my next favorite. For a warm peach tone, I reach for Frat Boy. I truly could get rid of the rest of my collection and just get by with these 3 blushes!

I really like the the more subtle swatch….but would have passed on it if I had just seen the bold swatch. Love that it’s so versatile and it goes to show that you can’t really depend on just a swatch that you see on the screen!

I need to remember to use this more but I’m using all my “blush” opps trying to finish up MAC Desert Rose and when I don’t use that, I forget and revert to Tarte Natural Beauty. I’ve got 3 Down Boys (2 in the Balmbini palette and one full size) and I never remember to use it.
