Terra Moons El Barrio Palette Review & Swatches
El Barrio
Terra Moons El Barrio 9-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 for 0.45 oz.) includes five matte shades paired with four shimmer shades, and it is sold as a palette but each shade can also be purchased individually. (Presently, it is sold out as a palette.) I was really impressed by the application of the shades in the palette; they were very blendable, smooth, and forgiving to work with, not just pigmented. They lasted between eight and nine hours on average. I think the shades in this palette definitely represent the brand’s formulas at their best.

Ritmo
Ritmo is a rich, medium gold with moderate, warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It had rich pigmentation with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that wasn’t too dense nor too soft, so it picked up well with a dry brush while adhering well to bare skin. It seemed to “melt” slightly and looked very smooth once on. There were signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Formula Overview
$6.25/0.05 oz. - $125.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "blendable" and "pigmented" with "a bit of kick up" when used due to being "pressed by hand." Some shades come with "additional information" such as being sheerer on the brand's website (for that particular shade) or to use a "glitter primer" due to the finish.
I found that some matte shades were more noticeably powdery than others, but whether there was just a little bit of powderiness or more noticeable powderiness really depended on a shade. The neon shades were the most powdery and hardest to work with on their own; some had more specific tips/guidance on how to work with them, which I felt was great for disclosure, but it could get hard to remember what shade needs to be applied in such and such fashion since it really did vary a lot shade by shade. The darker and less neon matte shades tended to perform the best for me--more pigmentation, better blendability, and were easier to work with and were more consistent.
Most shades--matte and more shimmery--were pigmented, easy to blend, and applied well to bare skin. They lasted between seven and eight hours with most closer to eight hours before fading (more of the mattes) or creasing (some of the more intense metallics).

Icono
Icono is a bright, light-medium chartreuse green with moderate, warm undertones and a shiny, metallic finish. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and blendable with rich pigmentation in a single layer. I found it applied even better on my lid than when I initially swatched it. There was a bit of creasing after eight hours of wear.

Mi Gente
Mi Gente is a muted, medium-dark olive green with subtle, warmer undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had very, very fine pearl throughout that seemed to ensure it blended out well but wasn’t actually visible to my eye in person as it looked totally matte in finish. The texture was smooth, velvety, and blendable with light powderiness in the pan but wasn’t prone to fallout during application. It had rich color coverage that lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Sangre
Sangre is a bright, medium red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was smooth, soft, and blendable with a little velvetiness to it and almost no powderiness, which I found impressive for this type of finish and color. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer and had good adhesion to bare skin while blending out with little effort. It stayed on well for nine hours before fading visibly and stained my lid slightly.

I’m glad that this palette is getting so much love in the makeup community right now and past couple months. I just am not into like 4 of the colors so I’ve held off on purchasing it. I do love the two greens a lot though.
I have never heard of this brand so I’m glad it performed so well. The colors are really out there and make a great companion palette. Thanks for the great review and making me aware. I need to check them out.
I have this palette and absolutely love it. I use it for both dramatic stand alone looks and for accents to subtle looks (it plays well with other brands). It is one of my favorites
Well dang if this isn’t a gem! That eye look you did using this palette looks amazing, and dare I say, extremely inspiring!
Gosh, the brand really did get this one right (you’re watching CP?) – those vivid mattes are perfect and they are so hard to do. The shimmers are gorgeous and with such vibrant shades, no wonder it has sold out.
Beautiful color story ! The colors look amazing 💕
Very nice, but only three colors interest me so it will be a pass. 😞
