The Amazonian Clay Blush formula is supposed to have 12-hour wear along with a “supremely soft” texture. The powder had a slightly firm, but smooth, consistency that didn’t kick up too much excess product when I worked with it, while it still blended out with ease and didn’t turn patchy or look uneven when applied. I would have liked to have seen better color payoff, as it was semi-sheer and buildable up to semi-opaque coverage. (A side note: given that all three of the new blush shades are sheerer, a genuinely deep shade would have been great to include for better coverage of the skin tone spectrum.) I think this is workable on skin tones up to medium-dark, as it was quite noticeable on my light-medium to medium skin tone. The finish was very smooth without being completely flat, though not enough to make it appear satiny blended out. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me, which is good, but as is typical with my experience with Tarte, not the 12-hours promised!

The swatch looked kind of dry, but looks good on your cheeks. Think I need to check out that Rave lip paint!
They seem to look better on than swatched!
Arrgh — it didn’t live up to its promise. Again. 🙁 But your eye look is fantastic!
Not too surprising 🙁 I don’t think any of Tarte’s have lasted 12 hours on me, lol!
Too matte for me. The swatch looks terrible but it looks way better on the face.
I think they blend out nicely!
This looks very pretty on you! I also wish Tarte made one of the new shades a little darker. Risque looks like a nice everyday blush but I’m worried it may not be pigmented enough to show on darker skin tones
That is my worry as well, Fancie 🙁 They could use at least one darker, if not two darker and very deep shades, IMO.
On the other hand, there are already several deeper shades in the permanent range, while not much for those who are fairer, and prefer a soft flush of color (even Exposed can look too intense on me!).
.It seems “pigmentation” has become the standard by which “quality” is measured, but I think it comes down to actual results. As for quality, I feel that is a matter of ingredients.
I was actually referring to darker shades of browns as something buildable but richer and/or darker overall would be more appropriate for darker skin tones, since the collection is about “nudes” but does not really fit “nudes” for all skin tones, and I’m not aware of any deep shades of brown in their permanent range. If they do, they could have very well repromoted those shades, as they did with Exposed, to make their offering more inclusive. I’m glad that you, as someone being very fair, have found something you like, but that’s really not what I was talking about.
Oooh, I really like the actual look of it applied as opposed to the pan color or swatches! This goes into definite “maybe” category. But I will wait to see how the last of the trio works out before I decide.
I definitely think they work better on than just swatched!
I love the color, though it might be close enough to Exposed that I can skip. Tarte blushes last really well on my oily skin.
It was surprisingly similar!
So pretty!! What is on the rest of your face?

I have tried to like Tarte Amazonian blushes, and so far not so much. I find they read dusty in terms of color and texture on me, sort of ‘not fresh’. Tried a bunch out at Ulta this weekend, as so many like them and I thought I was just missing something, but had the same experience. Alas.
Oh no! What is your skin type, Anne?
Very pretty shade.
It is!
This shade looks so pretty on you!
Thank you, Lys!
What foundation shade are you?
