Tarte Double Tap Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint
Tarte Double Tap Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is described as a “cool mauve.” It’s a muted, medium-dark warm rosy brown with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation with a creamy, spreadable texture that was very comfortable to wear and lightly hydrating. The only downside was some of the color gathered in lip lines, though I didn’t find it too noticeable from a normal viewing distance. MAC Anything But Demure (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, lighter (95% similar). MAC Totally Buff (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC It's a Strike (LE, $20.00) is lighter, less pigmented (90% similar). Tarte Snap (P, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Deelight (PiP, $20.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Anastasia Vintage (-, $16.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). MAC Body-con (LE, $21.00) is lighter (85% similar). NARS Santo Domingo (LE, $26.00) is cooler (85% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Skin Deep (344) (P, $29.00) is lighter (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Tarte Goals Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is described as a “rosy nude.” It’s a muted, medium pinky-coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a lightly creamy, gel-like texture on the lips that was moisturizing and comfortable on, though the texture had a tendency to pull into lip lines. This shade lasted for three and a half hours. Pat McGrath Wicked Whisper (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). ColourPop JJ (LE, $10.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Too Faced Pure Peach (P, $19.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). NARS Chelsea Girls (P, $26.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Stila Guava (PiP, $22.00) is lighter, less pigmented (90% similar). Hourglass Bare (P, $49.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). ColourPop Easy Bake (DC, $10.00) is more shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (85% similar). MAC Persistent Peach (DC, $19.50) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). NARS Stolen Kisses (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (80% similar). MAC Artful (LE, $21.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Tarte Snap Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is described as a “nude mauve.” It’s a muted, dark plummy-brown with warm undertones and a creamy finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation with a lightly creamy texture that was smooth and easy to spread across the lips evenly. It wore well for four hours and was moisturizing while worn. Urban Decay Wallflower (DC, $19.00) is warmer (95% similar). Giorgio Armani #524 (P, $29.00) is lighter, less pigmented (90% similar). MAC Anything But Demure (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Tarte Double Tap (P, $20.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Spice (P, $21.00) is warmer (90% similar). FORMULA OVERVIEW | Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is supposed to be “pigmented” with a “glossy” and “non-sticky” finish and have a hydrating formula to back it up. There are nine shades available, and it is a new, permanent formula. The consistency is light-medium in weight–more gel-like with a very smooth, lightly creamy texture. It’s more like a gloss than merely a liquid lipstick, so it has a glossier finish overall. Most of the shades were semi-opaque to fully opaque, and even the darker shades applied evenly for the most part (that was a surprise!). They’re comfortable to wear, lightly hydrating, and non-sticky over time. The wear varied between three to five hours for me. I didn’t notice any scent or taste when testing these.

These look so pretty 😀 x
They’re fun!
I’m just wondering why Mac Hyper-Fabulous didn’t make it into the Dupe list for Snap. Are they really that different?
Not similar to me?

I’m not typically attracted to glosses because even when they claim to be non-sticky, they usually are. Something about these reminds me of the Maybelline Color Elixers or L’oreal Extraordinaires. How does this formula compare to those?
They are lightweight and move less. I have not tried L’Oreal’s gloss that you mentioned, unfortunately. Sorry for not being more helpful!
I had a couple of the L’Oreal Extraordinaires and had to throw them away. The colors were pretty, and I liked the formula, but it was LOADED with fragrance, like eating strong perfume all day long. And the longer they sat in my stash, the more concentrated the fragrance got 🙁
Oh my goodness, I would look great in ALL of these. Snap is my fave!
Awesome!
They all look great on you but colors I can pull off.
That is great news!
I need Double Tap & Snap in my lyfe, pronto! <3 <3 Your swatches are soo helpful, thank you!
Happy to help, Jacqueline!
This will be a hard decision between Double Tap and Snap; I love them both. And also love Goals for a fresh hit of peach for summertime ( which, btw, has already begun for us here! ♨). With MAC Deelight being one of my all-time favorite lipglasses to use as a topper, but these doing it all; pigmentation, gloss, perfect mlbb color….yeah, Double Tap or Snap.
Hopefully you can check ’em out in person to decide on a fave!
Very wearable nudes! I could see myself wearing all of these.
Yay 😀
These remind me a lot of the Too Faced glosses! Except without the hefty price tag!
Woohoo!
You look stunning in everything shade. The look overall is gorgeous. I must try these as soon as I can. I am traveling to USA next month. I loved the eyes and cheeks matching colors. What blush are you wearing?
I don’t remember, sorry!
Double Tap and Snap look like gorgeous vrai mauve nude colors! I see them as kinda cool/blue toned with a beige/brown/nude beige which is just my type of spring time nude!
