Tarte Celebrated Amazonian Clay Blush
Tarte Celebrated Amazonian Clay Blush ($26.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a dusty pink with neutral-to-warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. Tarte Breathless (LE, $26.00) is browner. Chanel Innocence (160) (P, $45.00) is darker. Makeup Geek Spell Bound (P, $9.99) is more shimmery. MAC Cheeky Bugger (LE, $21.00) is pinker. Giorgio Armani Daybreak (503) (P, $46.00) is similar. Tarte Elevated (LE, $26.00) is darker. Tarina Tarantino Neopolitan Lane (P, $25.00) is darker, browner. NYX Dusty Rose (P, $5.00) is darker, pinker. MAC Blush All Day (P, $23.50) is more shimmery. MAC The Perfect Cheek (LE, $21.00) is cooler-toned, pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
This is a blush best for fairer skin than mine, as it really doesn’t show up on my cheeks (my arm is lighter than my face); sometimes with shades like this, I can see the effect more in real life than in photos, but I could barely tell I had anything on. Even as I layered it on, all I could start to detect was a slight difference in texture (more mattified relative to the rest of my face). The blush had a fairly soft texture, but it was slightly powdery, though I think with one or two layers of the blush, it didn’t look powdery on the face. What I was able to see on my cheeks seemed to last well for almost eight and a half hours, and then it started to fade and let some shine through.
This is part of Tarte’s spring collection, which should be available soon.

I can a see a hint of color on your like you said its best for fairer skintones! Its a beautiful color though!
Yep, best for fairer skin!
Not a colour for me. I was dismayed to see, a few months ago, that they discontinued several of their blush shades (of course, they were colours I was planning to buy at some point – Amused, Adored…) but at least they’ve retained Natural Beauty (which is my fave blush of all time, pretty much) and Blushing Bride.
Thank goodness they kept your favorite, at least!
I think this would be a nice, subtle color for someone with fair skin and peach undertones. Great for spring or summer
Yes, definitely a better option for fairer skin!
It’s indeed pretty light but not too light for me I think, I quite like the look of it!
Yay!
This is definitely very light. I really like the color, though, and it will be great for us ultra-pale girls.
Definitely!
Totally up my alley, I love it. But I could maybe go for the Makeup Geek one instead.
I like the quality of the Makeup Geek one more!
These look pretty chalky. Pass!
Really light, but it didn’t seem chalky to me (and didn’t look chalky on!) 🙂
Must. Own. Now.
Perfection for you!
Hmmm something like this might be good for me as I’m blush-phobic. Although I may get some Makeup Geek ones instead!
I like the quality of MUG better myself 🙂
I can see the subtle flush of color on you but I agree that it’s best for fair skin tones. It looks like it’ll be a great natural everyday kind of blush
It would be a lovely color for everyday, easy wear on lighter skin tones!
I think I would like this one! The packaging drew me into it initially, but it seems like a good everyday/natural sort of shade.
For sure, so long as you are fair 😀
I love it and I’m quite a bit more fair than you are so it was great to read your review! I was just thinking that I need to stop looking at pictures of blush online because they are often too dark on me but this might be lovely!
Woohoo!! 🙂 Should be nice on your fairer skin!
I like the look of this. I’ll have to swatch it on my very pale face. I might prefer the Chanel based on your dupe list swatches though.
Possibly – Chanel’s texture is better, I think!
Is sephora going to get this? I think I’ll have to check it out! It looks like something I would wear.
They should!
I had hoped that the Hourglass ALB in Dim Infusion would be more like this, but on me its a hideous shimmering color that stands alone as far as color.. Similar to but not pure pink or coral or peach… It’s just so disappointing. Tarte no workie on me either. 🙁 I may still indulge in a color non-Hourglass for a fresh new blush of a warm peach! (My MAC work fine, but I just love new ones!:D Especially if it’s ruddy.. I LOVE those! Side note: MAC Crazed Imagination makes a stellar eyeshadow! 🙂 I am so waiting to hop on the Marsala blush palette, for sure! Although Sephora has the WORST customer service, I am already enamored 😀
Oh no! 🙁 I’m sure Marsala will give you at least one or two new blush shades….
Well, I have quite loved the looks of the blush palette since photos were leaked in the beginning of the month, yet I’m still not sure which of the three are creams and likewise.. I prefer my blush to be a powder. But this does not deter me from the many other good brands adding saucy muted shades… I’m still carrying an intrigue with Chanel Jersey & Rose Innocence… I don’t feel like using old ones and blending my ass off. My ALB in Dim Infusion would have most likely suited you, as everything else does.. That’s a compliment! 😀 Winter is my more matte season with delicately placed highlighters.. Simplicity made with stunning muted colors of boldness, lightened and smooth as silk to apply and run away from the mirror. Seriously though, I was so excited about one ALB that I bought them all and never tried them all.. So disappointed. Note to self: STOP DOING THAT! Same with every form of ALP but they work in multiple ways that it’s easy to find use. Maybe I can use the blush as eyeshadow or trade it. I use things randomly and about once each time, trying something different each time, usually, when feeling sporadic.. 🙂
It seems Tarte has really lightened their blush collection. My favorite, Flush, mysteriously went from a deep raspberry to a ho hum natural pink. Good news for the fair skinned ladies, I guess.
Yes, they have a lot of really light ones!
Hehe, I think this is the most supernaturally super natural blush for you! I reall y can see it n you, and I think it looks nice – but definitely a BLUSH either for lighter tones or people who want a really gentle effect. I’m a bit weird about blush though – I like my blushes to be hardcore bright (see: Chanel Affinite), but I blend them down to the point where it’s almost like…you know if you turn your head obliquely in the mirror, you can see that you’re wearing blush, but then if you turn face on it’s not obvious at all? Kind of like the shimmer on a road on a hot day. Does anyone else get/do this? Or am I just as odd as I think I am? 😀
Beautiful color, but not unique enough to spend $26. Does anyone know of any other drugstore dupes other than NYX?
Thanks.
So in your opinion this blush may not show up on my medium sometimes medium-tan complexion. Should I pass on it?
I wouldn’t get it, personally! Perhaps if you can try it in person? But otherwise, I wouldn’t buy sight unseen!
It’s tempting. I’m fair and it’d be my first Tarte blush, but I’d be happy with the NYX dupe. Is it worth the splurge for Tarte’s formula?
I’m not a huge fan of Tarte’s formula!
