Urban Decay is my personal choice (as I like that formula best), but they do still have an extensive single range. I think brands like Tarte and Too Faced really lack individual ranges!
I’ve used a brush roll, which is probably best for keeping the shape of your brushes, but I often just use a wider, structured makeup bag. That’s usually good enough for me (maybe one brush is a little squished!).

You know, I recently caved on the Make Up For Ever’s Artist Shadow Collector’s Set, and I kick myself a bit for doing so, as there was no need (I own them all individually). Other sets for the season: Tom Ford Lips & Boys and philosophy 12 Days of Christmas.
A moderately dense, creamy, buttery texture that adheres well to the skin with minimal loss of intensity when blended. I prefer mostly opaque to totally opaque coverage rather than buildable (I feel like I can always sheer it out or use a wee bit to achieve sheerer coverage when desired).
A slightly thicker consistency so that it doesn’t slide around immediately, and you can still get opacity out of it, but it should still have enough slip that it can be sheered out and blended out as well. It should also apply evenly and wear for eight hours before creasing/fading.

I usually think about what makeup I want to do or what I’ll be applying, and then I try to make the outfit work with it. I tend to complement with similar undertones or shades of color. If I can’t figure it out, I go gray/black!
