The Sydney Grace x Temptalia Collection launches tomorrow, June 18th, at 9AM PDT. I wanted to share swatches this morning now that I have swatches on darker skin available (I’m waiting on two more sets of swatches–lightest and medium; I will update this post as soon as those arrive).

The Deep versions of the palettes were designed specifically with darker skin tones in mind, while the Light versions of the palettes were designed with lighter skin tones in mind, but the intent was to keep look and feel of each color story intact, so that’s why two key shades were altered but not every shade. (You can get a more in-depth look at and information on the Light vs. Deep versions here.)

There is a circular image of Mellan at the base of the swatch for shades that differ between the Light and Deep versions. He hopes to help make it clearer for those trying to decide between versions!

Love these…thank you so much for including them! I’m closest to your husband’s tone and can see I’d best get the lights to have some good transition shades for my skin tone. How are you feeling? Nervous, anxious, excited? I can’t even imagine what it must be like on your end. :o)

*big hugs* Gosh, it makes a lot of sense that you’re missing your dog not being here. It’s not the same, but he lives on here in your beautiful work, and because you’ve shared him with us in some small way, he lives on in us, too. He’s here! And we won’t forget. And now, you’ve made me teary, too. *hugs again*

Professor Mellan is so helpful! <3

I think your husband's skintone is pretty close to mine (I might be even a little lighter but we've got the same undertones and freckles, lol), and looking at those swatches I think I might go ahead and get Quintessence in Deep but stick with Light for the other two.

I am SO excited to buy these tomorrow 🙂

She’s that beautiful shade of way pale cool yellow, no? Her work is great, too. Course, just as with Mellan, my favorite things on her blog are those gorgeous standard poodles. I hope she gets to do a collab with one of your goth-y indie faves one day.

There’s only one tiny thing missed with this launch, and with all the work and planning, the date of launch is probably coincidental. It would have been nice to see a discount for POC on Juneteenth. Maybe next year. Or a donation to a BLM cause.

I think you have done a great job with these palettes. Not one shade looks anything but stellar on all the skin tones I’ve seen so far. For sure I see the need for the deep and the light versions, but the rest of the colours are amazing looking on every swatch.
I love how Professor Mellan showed us the deep/light versions. What a darling boy he was!
Three hours and fifteen minutes to go.
