Sydney Grace Pure Joy Highlighter Review & Swatches
Pure Joy
Sydney Grace Pure Joy Highlighter ($12.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a deep, dirty plum base packed with dirty, gold shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It was almost a plummy taupe overall, and what made it so complex as the cooler undertone of the plum color with the warmer undertone of the gold shimmer. The color payoff was opaque with very little product, so I’d highly recommend using a lighter touch and building up coverage to make it easier to control the application, placement, and so on. The consistency was denser, creamy without being too thick, and blendable on my skin. The cooler, purple-plum tones came through more noticeably as I blended and diffused the color out, and the golden sheen was apparent on the higher points as the light reflected off of my cheekbones. This shade stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly.

The highlighters are supposed to be "smooth and pigmented" that "blend like a dream" and "last all day long." The majority of the shades in the range are incredibly pigmented with a creaminess to the texture that makes them a cinch to apply and blend out on my skin.
I was most impressed by how soft, almost cream-like the powders were, yet they weren't too loosely-pressed nor were they prone to powderiness. Some of the finishes are very metallic or frosted, so when worn at semi-opaque or higher coverage levels, they can emphasize my skin's natural texture slightly. They have worn between eight and nine hours on me.

Highlighter? Not on my fair skin! But, I’d wear it as a lid shadow in a heartbeat!!! Loooove this color for green/hazel eyes!!!
It would make a stunning eyeshadow!
This would look like dirt or a bruise on me.
Such a beautiful, unique shade. It’s almost like a blush and highlighter in one when it’s buffed out how you did. It would be dazzling on the right skin tones. (Not mine, obviously.)
Christine, you don’t have an affiliate code with Sydney Grace, do you? I always go through your links to buy but a YTer has a code for them.
No, sorry, they did not give me one!
They will… give you an affiliate code, that is. Might be in on this as a blush, if Mlle RiRi does not offer Stone Cold as a single. I like the cool and plum in that one better. already having sand castle, really don’t need pure joy. TM eye, SC and PJ are closer, but that might be the device. I love a coolside ‘dirty’ look.
THAT IS SO FREAKING PRETTY!!!!
It reminds me a little bit of Morphe Boom, but much warmer and more complex. So lovely!
Lovely but could not wear as a highlighter on my fair skin. I would look like I had gone a few rounds with a prize fighter. Nice as an eye shadow though.
This is such an interesting shade! Quite unique, too. Not sure if I can pull it off with my olive undertones as a cheek color, but I would absolutely love it as an eyeshadow, though!
The product looked like an eyeshadow to me at first, and it is a beautiful shade. More like a blush really. I do hope the brand brings out some lovely blushes.
