Sunbeam
Sydney Grace Sunbeam Shimmer Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark yellow with strong, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the consistency was smooth, lightly creamy and adhered evenly to my lid. It blended out easily and stayed on well for eight hours on me.

The shimmer eyeshadows are more consistent in pigmentation with the majority of shades having opaque color coverage. The more metallic/sparkly the shade is, the creamier and more emollient the eyeshadow felt in the pan, which often yielded really smooth application and good adherence to the lid, though a few worked better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for true-to-pan color or to get a truer finish/sheen.
Most shades, however, worked well with brushes, and I didn't have trouble applying or blending out most of the shimmer shades. The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

Megalodon
Sydney Grace Megalodon Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, sparkling medium teal with cool, blue undertones and a metallic finish. The pigmentation was very nearly opaque in a single layer. It had a chunkier, thicker consistency, which I found applied better with fingertips or a dampened brush but wasn’t as foolproof to work with dry (with a brush). The texture was creamy, more loosely pressed, and there was a bit of fallout during application. It applied best by pressing and patting onto the skin, and then buffing/blending out the edges. It stayed on well for eight hours on me before creasing faintly.

Determined
Sydney Grace Determined Matte Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a dusty teal with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had buildable pigmentation from medium to mostly opaque (opaque over a primer). It was one of the “weakest” shades I’ve tried by the brand thus far, and while the pigmentation was a let-down, the texture enabled it to build up well without being too powdery or prone to fallout. The texture felt soft and was blendable on my lid. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading slightly.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren't opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn't so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I've found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.

What a gorgeous bunch of aqua and turquoise shades these are. Loved Midnight Green the best. Gorgeous eye look Christine.
Out of all these, I’m going to need the one named after the ginormous ancient shark that is thankfully extinct! Megalodon will be mine!
Ongoing appreciation for reviewing these. SG sure does a mean green family.
The Shallows is really beautiful. When I do make a SG order, it’s going to be so hard to chose what to try first.
Do you think Sydney Grace watches Shark Week?!
(it should be Megalodon, but eh)
I thought I messed up, but that’s what the label says… but on their website, it is Megalodon, actually… I’ll pass that on to them!
With shadows that good, we can forgive them a typo. Wouldn’t mind seeing more shark names this summer.
Only tangentially related but these color combos are almost my ideal “green” palette. Everyone seems to want green palette to be all green or green and blue but I want a “green” palette to be greens, olives, chartreuse, yellows. I would be all over that kinda layout.
These shades are really pretty, but they aren’t shades that would work on me. However, I adore the name Megalodon!
Sunbeam does it for me! I’ll have to add that to the next Sydney Grace order (which will be a while).
