The Artistique Blush formula is supposed to have a “naturally glowing finish.” The formula is consistent: the blushes have a very soft, almost cream-like powder texture that blends out effortlessly to a luminous sheen with semi-opaque to opaque coverage (that is easily applied more sheerly or layered for true-to-pan color) and good wear (eight to nine hours). La Rosée du Soir had good color payoff, though not fully opaque, which will make it a bit easier to use on very fair skin tones. It is a more muted, mid-tone shade, so I don’t expect it to show up on medium-dark and darker skin tones. The texture had a silky feel to it; very finely-milled and smooth, almost like a loose powder but most certainly pressed as there was no excess powder kickup. It was easy to blend out on my cheeks, and as I blended it, the satin finish came through more prominently. It wore well for eight hours on me.
A note on packaging: Surratt’s range comes in lightweight plastic pans, which aren’t ideal for long-term use (particularly if traveling or putting in a makeup bag), as his products are designed to be put into custom palette solutions. Personally, I put magnets on the back of each and keep them in freestyle palettes (like a Z-Palette) as it is more economical.

This is such a pretty shade on you! May have to check this one out if/when I decide to foray into trying to wear blush.
PS – love your earrings!
Thank you x2, Tammy!
I like this! This might even work very well for me as a warm blush, because it looks like it has very little peach/orange in it!
Oooh, nice! I hope you can check it out sometime, Fran.
I will have to order it in order to check it out, unfortunately! Maybe during the Sephora 20% off coupon 🙂
Wooo…so pretty! I haven’t felt the need to purchase any blushes lately… but this looks really pretty and it looks like it will go with all types of looks 🙂
I bet it would work with just about any look!
Ah… I like this one even better than the previous one… Love!
Yay!
Totally my kind of blush color.
Yay!
The color isn’t wowing me, but I think it’ll look prettier on the cheeks
It is!
I can definitely see this working very nicely on fair-to- lt. medium complexions as a lovely nude-rose type of shade. However, this would not show up on me, I believe.
It might not, Nancy! Like you said, definitely for lighter skin tones!
I am an nc42 in Mac and I like how the Surratt La vie en rose works on me (which also said not for for deeper skin tones). For some reason blush seems to come out brighter on my cheeks than expected. Do you think this one will be too light?
If La Vie En Rose works for you, I think this could work for you, too 🙂 I find that sometimes more matte finishes can look brighter/deeper on the skin, especially if applied over still-damp foundation or oilier skin (it’s kind of like how damp eyeshadow looks more intense than dry eyeshadow!).
Thanks, much!
Love how you’re getting out some newer to Sephora brands before the sale. Feel myself falling for Troy.
I am trying!
What a beautiful blush!
It looks lovely on you, Christine.
Thanks, Helene!
I’m so glad you posted this review today! I don’t live anywhere I can go and see them in person so your reviews are great as I’ve been debating back and forth between this and La Vie en Rose for an everyday natural shade to pick up during the VIB Rouge sale.
Happy to help, Kristin! 🙂
Very pretty on you Christine! I haven’t tried any of the Surratt brand blushes because last thing I need is to fall in love with another blush line- but these are so tempting…
Thank you, Trish!
I LOOOOVE this shade!!! This is the best kind of blush shade, imo. So soft and pretty and looks good with everything!
It is very wearable!
Beautiful. Your skin looks perfect with it.
Wasn’t Chanel’s Jersey an all time favorite? Same color here… I wonder between the 2 which one?
I don’t think I mentioned this was an all-time favorite in the review? Jersey isn’t quite the same, IMO – I listed it only has an 85% dupe!
