We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Am I the only one disappointed in the red? I thought it’d be a true red in the vein of some of Sugar Pill’s greatest, but nope.

The only thing that interests me is that Too Faced Rosy Glow, but I don’t *need* that by any means. It’s a better collaberation than I expected, but I’m still not blown away.

I swatched the shadow palette in store, thought the Too Faced side was decent, but the KVD side was much better, no surprise. By far, the best shade was Swoon, need to make that a single. But many of the TF and KVD shadow colors don’t seem to go well together at all, seems like a very weird and un-necessary collaboration. I like the colors in the lip/cheek set, but unfortunately can’t justify it, as I already have a deluxe sample of the Rosy Glow (like!) and enough dupes for the other products.

Still think this is an odd pairing. Swoon sure swatches differently than it looks in the pan or is that just my monitor? Not really interested in this release. I am off Two Faced makeup until something changes for the better.

These seriously swatch better than I was expecting. And I spotted several different eye looks one could do using this. That said, I also noticed that several shades are easily duped in most people’s stash. Who doesn’t own a black, white or brown eyeshadow! I will wait on your review before forming a final opinion.
I DO love that Studded Kiss lipstick, Muse, though!

My best friend bought me the eye set, and it’s being shipped to me!

I’m so glad I saw your swatches, Because I wasn’t SUPER excited about it before. But now I’m pretty darn pleased with the thing!!

I can’t wait until I receive it!!

I finger swatched these at my local Sephora and the shadows looked beautiful but the colors aren’t that spectacular and it’s not something that I feel that I must have. This collaboration could have turned out so awesome but if feel like they just threw something together and didn’t really make something as special as I feel they could have.I won’t be purchasing any of this.

Yawn! Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
The set I bought was ok, not great, but ok. BUT the pans are so teeny tiny I feel like it was a waste of money. I can’t even use my better brushes with it since the pans are so small. Glad I didn’t waste my money on this collab set too. Thanks for the swatches!

Wow, a Too Faced palette that isn’t horrible! ?

Honestly, though, I’m impressed with the swatches. I have enough shades to dupe the ones I’d wear but this looks promising, or at least hopeful, compared to previous TF releases!

Am I off, or is the kvd side more disappointing? The black and gray aren’t particularly good swatches and the red is not true to pan. The tf, on the other hand, is far better than we are used to seeing. As for Kat, waiting to see if she can do decent pastels. Idk when pastel goth is coming, but it’ll be an interesting take for her. This is all pretty dupable. Candlelight is actually goldish, even on the rosy side. (Boo) At first I wondered why there were no tf lips, but then I remembered that they couldn’t do a blush/lip on each side, due to kat’s recent blush bomb. Aha! Hence, Kat lips and tf blush. Makes sense.

Based on the swatches for Pastel Goth she released the verdict on her doing pastels is that she doesn’t know the meaning of pastel. There’s nothing soft about the colors and many look like they were taken from metal matte. 🙁 I love Metal Matte so it’s disheartening that she’s got these two releases that are blah.

Is it possible she was inspired by pastel sticks, like for drawing? I feel like that would make sense considering her background as an artist. Seeing it from that perspective, I think she did capture the essence of pastels in her new palette, at least from the swatches that were released.

Carrie Avatar

Except her tease of the palette was “I bet you never thought I’d do this!” which to me points more to inspired by the colors, not the media. Plus the colors on the packaging are softer as well.

The whole set swatches better than I was expecting and it does look better than expected. Hopefully TF have decided to focus more on quality but I still feel they’re just churning it out without very much thought – more style than substance. I don’t own any Kat von D products but from what I’ve seen on here they do look good.

Right Nicole? When they announced this I was anticipating something mind blowing. They obviously didn’t put much time or effort into this.I remember hearing rumors that every meeting they had for this collaboration Kat Von D would come extremely late so maybe they just didn’t work on this together that much.It would explain why the palette is so randomly put together.

If XO and Muse came out in full-size, I would get. It seems like XO would be so much better used as an LE Valentines Day release…

Fran Avatar

I really don’t know how I feel about this collectionp It seems like kind of a crazy collaboration, the two brands having such different vibes… and the eyeshadow colors seem like a real hodge-podge of a mix, too. I love a couple of the shades (Heart of Gold and Darling), and would use several of the others if the quality is at least decent, but the packaging looks awkward to use. Don’t like the color of Muse or the finish of XO. The blush is a very pretty color, but maybe too shimmery. The highlighter looks interesting… but it doesn’t all come together for me.

Sarah Avatar

Love your blog! I’m really eager to read your review as well. I have the palette and the KVD side (Swoon in particular) is really pretty but I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it yet. The Too Faced side seems to be a bit uninspired.

ACP Avatar

I was disappointed with the cheek and lip set. I only liked the lips! KVD has said that if people want it enough, she’ll release a full size of XO so fingers crossed because that color is gorgeous.

BonnieBBon Avatar

Looking at the palette makes my eyes confused. It’s so discordant that it jars rather than charms. I have zero interest in owning anything in this collab, which is kind of amazing.
