Sneak Peek: Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Lipsticks Photos & Swatches

Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick

For summer, Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a new formula now available in eight shades. I haven’t had a chance to test any of these (my order arrived yesterday along with the just-posted MAC collections, so you can imagine I’m a bit behind!), but I thought I’d share swatches in the meanwhile 🙂 The formula does feel somewhat different to me compared to the original based on applying them for lip swatches yesterday.

OMG, Metallic Jelly is calling my name!! If the reviews are any decent, I will DEFINITELY be getting that. The shimmer is so complex, and it’s such a gorgeous plum berry. Metallic Violet is pretty too but looks kind of uneven, if it doesn’t score well, I’ll be looking for dupes….

OMG, can I have all of them? I think they look fantastic! I am gonna wait for your reviews to see which one I should get first! I don’t know how you do it all, Christine, so many collections are out and your work is always fantastic!

Jelly and Macaron for sure, but all of them are gorgeous with that metallic sheen. Some almost look more like a shimmer, so I’m looking forward to your review–that’ll probably be how I decide on the others!

My mantra for the next few weeks is gonna be “I don’t need Metallic Jelly, I don’t need Metallic Jelly.”

I’m secretly hoping it has a terrible review.

Wow, I just looked up Guerlain Gems and I’m so sorry that it was LE! Any other dupes of this floating out there you can think of? It’s such a gorgeous colour with that sparkly golden finish!

Hopefully they’ll add more shades like they’ve done with the regular range. My guess is they went for these since they’re releasing with their summer collection 🙂

*pictures self dragging Peony and Debutante into shopping cart, then pining for the order to arrive*

Macaron makes your lips look like they belong in a fairy tale, Christine!

Bottom line: these look amazing. Metallic the most flattering texture on my 30-something y.o. lips so I can’t wait to get my hands on those.

Oh, wow! I am a total Matte girl and have never been tempted by sheers, metallic or any other variations but these are beautiful.

Oh man, you are going to be doing A LOT of lipstick testing over the next week(s?) between this & the MAC collections!

Did you swatch all of these & the MAC lipsticks in one day? Your poor lips!

I sure did, and I instantly went down a spiral of what I call “swatching regret,” LOL! I was like, “Why… why did I do this…” I had to do it, because I paid a whopping $17 shipping for my Too Faced order (when I did their free shipping, it took almost 2.5 weeks between when I ordered and when it actually arrived, and $17 is their cheapest upgraded shipping), so I refused to have paid that for nothing.

I am so glad you got these AND that you mentioned that they were different than the original formula which I adore! So, I am thanking you for being the most awesome beauty blogger to ever exist and Too Faced for making products permanent! I will be waiting for your reviews. I love the looks of these! I hope they are as good as the original! You poor thing! I can’t imagine how hard you are working with all the Mac collections coming out at once! Try to get some rest and play too!

Oh my gosh these are gorgeous!!! I only ordered one in macaron! I want to get the ones in Tu-tu, peony, and jelly. Hehehe I can’t imagine how big your collection is. XD

I haven’t yet! I should get it on Saturday and I’m excited for it, I’ll be getting it with the palette, too. It’s my birthday present for myself. Hehe it’s all good to use more colors than neutrals for once. :3

*heavy breathing* I LOVE these! The regular melted line left a little to be desired for me but these, these look gorgeous! Hoping for great reviews but even if not I will still get my hands on 4 or 5.

Debutante looks GORGEOUS. I’m quite surprised, they all look really good. When I read metal, I thought cyber and chrome metallic. I keep forgetting we are in the modern age. Hello, Jessica, wake up!

WOW! Just W-O-W!!!!

These look like Zoya nail lacquer for the lips! So beautiful with complex refined shimmer, they seem to glow on your lips.

It has been a really long time since something in ‘beautyland’ has piqued my interest. I feel like I’ve been in such a cosmetic rut.

Quick question: I have never tried a Melted; can the formula be sheered out or is it ‘full coverage or bust’?

Thanks 🙂

The original Melted formula is pretty much opaque in one go. I mean, you could apply BARELY ANY and maybe get sheerer coverage, but… it’s not easy. These have a thinner consistency that will make them easier to sheer out, based on very, very, VERY preliminary usage.

These shades reminds me of my OCC lip tars. I’m very curios about the wear time though, as the larger shimmer/glitter particles shades wore off in a strange way (like flaked) rather than wear off subtly.

I adore most of the shades so it’s bad for my wallet.

I noticed that they removed “Long-Wear” entirely from this product – it’s not on the tube or anywhere in the description.

I really love the original Melted lipsticks – they might be my favorite liquid lipstick – and now to add a newer, prettier formula… -siiigh- Macaron and Jelly will likely be my first purchases, pending your reviews!

Pink Peony is my favorite from the matte formula! And then i saw Metallic Peony and i found a new one! Debutante reminds me a little of Tomas from Tom Ford’s boys collection. The complexity of the shade.

Peony and Debutante are calling my name!!!! Gorgeous!!! Although…I think these kind of light peachy coral shades are probably best suited for someone with a different coloring than me. Like a blonde, blue eyed type of coloring, whereas I have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and light-medium skin. Why do I always fall for colors that aren’t made for me! I usually say screw it and wear them anyway! 😉

I’ll have to check out Peony & Tu-tu in person, as it’s a bit hard to tell the difference but the golden-corally-pink colors on both are soooo pretty! Love Macaron too! These will be perfect for spring and summer!

Do you know if these will be released on Sephora’s website? Any info on the date? I think I need all of them! They’re stunning!

These are so pretty!! I think I need to run to the store and try one or two out. I’m trying to find a lip color to wear to a formal event next month. It’s crunch time and I don’t even know what I’m wearing yet :/

I was going to write that I don’t dig these “melted” lipsticks ( never was a fan of OCC lip tars ), but OMG .. these are GORGEOUS! Yes, I’m probably going to pick up one or two !!

Monica.

Is it weird that I might end up being more drawn to a few of these than the original Melted colors? Some of these seem like they could be sheerer and work with different skintones. The original line-up doesn’t seem to have anything but in-your-face colors or lighter colors that are way off the mark for my complexion.

I love Macaroon and Metallic Dream House I saw them the day they came out on TooFaced.com but I wanted to wait to see what they looked like on your lips color wise!Your blog makes it so much easier for me to determine what color I want because we have a similar skintone.Thank you

OMG. Debutante looks like everything I’ve been looking for in a long-wearing lip color but haven’t been able to find. Oh how I hope it gets a good review!!

Wow! LOVE these! Peony, Tu-Tu, Debutante, Jelly, Macaron… I’d wear them all! I’m curious for their ratings to see how well they perform in comparison to the original formula (which I still haven’t bought yet, I haven’t tried the newest colors they release yet but I wasn’t a fan of the original colors released). I might pick up one of the metallics!

OMG They all look so beautiful!!!! So excited for your review.

I must get one of these Melted lippies soon, especially in the original shades!!

I’m really excited about this launch! I JUST got my first Melted and I really love it, so the addition of shimmery colors sounds like a great thing. I hope that although different they’re as good as the cream shades, fingers crossed!

I usually don’t like shimmery or metallic lip colours for my own personal preferences, but I’m really liking these, especially Jelly and maybe Macaron! And I like how it looks like the formula is opaque without being heavy and pasty.

Ok now I really want Debutante and Jelly (and maybe Tu-Tu too). I have a deluxe sample of one of the originals, and I really dislike the formula. Maybe it was just that color in particular (bright pale pink) but it was so dry, settled into my lines, patchy, etc. Those two colors are so gorgeous I really hope that the formula’s better, or at least I like it better.

My guess is if you don’t like the original *formula* that I don’t know this is going to be better for you! 🙁 But maybe you can try a sample!

I’m so glad you posted this! I absolutely love all of the normal melted lipsticks and when I saw they metal ones I was so excited. I am so eager to get some but wasn’t sure which ones, but now that you’ve swatched them all, you’ve made my life easier. Eager to see your ratings!

I like the look of Jelly and Dream House but I haven’t been all that crazy about the originals of these (I find them alarmingly bright) so I’ll certainly “try before I buy”.

I think these are still pretty bright but the shimmer definitely tones most of them down vs. original Melted shades!

My first thought was that these sound terrible, because I hate metallic makeup (especially on lips) and was never wooed by the original Melted.

Welp. These are gorgeous. Damn.

The Debutante and Jelly are calling my name. Looking for a coral-ly pink – not sure if macaroon will be it. Will wait for your review. Thanks for the great service you provide. I always check your reviews prior to a purchase. You are an invaluable source for me!!!!

Aaaah these are killing me! Metallic Debutante is one of the prettiest colors I’ve seen but I can’t stand glitteriness on anything except my eyes. So torn!

The shades are so pretty, but it’s a bummer that they’re all metallic. No matter how trendy, I will probably never fall in love with it. But Metallic Jelly doesn’t even look that bad, to be honest! 🙂

I want them all!
I also just love the photos of the pearly props of product on the pristine white foamy applicator. I want them as art over my sofa!

Nice to see Too Faced expand the line and with a new texture as well! Jelly is the only one that grabs my eye online, though. Can’t wait for the reviews!

I really didn’t think I like metallic lipsticks and now I kind of want all of them…the lip swatches are gorgeous, thanks for posting (my wallet does not thank you).

I love the shade named Peony!!! does anyone know a similar lipstick color? slightly glittery.
Not a big fan of such an applicator :/
Thanks!

Debutante FTW!!! On you. Not on me! LOL! Can’t wait to see the full face shot tho. Looks SO pretty! I know you’re testing so often and don’t imagine you have many opportunities to just play but have you ever worn these (meaning the regular formula as well) over different liners? Curious if they blend well and aren’t so opaque that you can still alter them a little.

The Metallic ones feel thinner to me, so I think they are more readily sheered out. The original range is SO pigmented that it’s harder to get a sheer layer out of it except by using the least amount with a lip brush (probably fingertip, actually).

I haven’t worn them over liner, but I think that when used sparingly, they have a thinner and less glossy shine to them such that they probably would blend well over a liner.

Interesting! I may check some of these out then. I LOVE anything frosty for laying! Some of these look like they’d be pretty jumping off points. Remember Thrills by MAC? Debutante LOOKS like it has that quality and makes me wonder if over a darker, brick or berry liner you’d be able to resonably dupe it… I LOVED Thrills! So pretty and I still have a smidgen left!

Metallic Jelly, and maybe Debutante and Bunny. I love the high shimmer finish, and it seems to provide that without horribly emphasising lip texture, win!

Oh man, if these review well, I’m going to need a whole bunch of them! Jelly is stunning, and Macaron and Tu-tu (although I’m not really seeing a difference between Tu-tu and Peony…) and Dream House and Debutante and Violet…. sigh…

These look way prettier than I thought they would! (I’m not a huge fan of shimmery lipstick on myself.) Now, how am I going to choose between Dream House, Macaron, and Jelly? Looking forward to your reviews!

I have to say this is the first time that I’ve looked at each different shade of lipstick and said “I want that, I want that, I want that”……so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing these swatches, they look awesome on you!

Oh these are definitely much more interesting than the original finish ..to me anyway. For the most part I don’t like anything that looks like …lip PAINT/lip tar or thats too opaque so these seem perfect! I’m actually digging all of them:s but the melted macaron is calling out my name a little louder than the rest lol. I still have a good few months before I see these in Canada anyways:(

Omg , these are Sooooooo pretty. I like the colors of the original formula , but I don’t like the way mattes look on me. So glad to see they came out with a shimmery version. I just ordered all the corally shades ( tu-tu, peony, debutante, and macaron ) for summer. Can’t wait to start wearing them! I will probably pick up jelly later for fall.

The glam metal side of me is lusting over every single one of these. They look so ethereal! I’d be curious to know if they last the same time as the matte ones.

I feel like these would fit perfectly in like an 80s cartoon show. Haha they should use them in the jem and the holograms movie! Especially the one in dream house. Its truly, truly outrageous.

It makes sense because these seem to be glossier than the matte ones.
Regardless, I find that with most brands mattes last longer for me at least. KVD is the exception for me those metallics last soo long on me, I know you didnt have a great experience with most of those though 🙁

Dream House, Macaron, Jelly and Violet will definitely be mine!! I’ll probably get Violet first, jjust to make sure I like the formula since you said it seems different, before I get the others. I can’t wait until these arrive in stores so I can swatch them!!

Hope they show up soon! ULTA might have them… not sure if they’re in-stores yet, but I know they put ’em up on their website last week.

PEONY AND DREAM HOUSE are so great! I do also really like Violet, but I feel like my KVD Wonderchilde is close enough to fill the violet-with-blue-sparkle lipstick position in my collection.

Uh oh, I see money flying out of my wallet these are so pretty. Rarely do I like everything in one release, but this one I do! You could blindfold me and I’d pick two and I be ecstatic with the choices!!! I can’t wait to hear more about them.

I’m not a fan of metallic finish on the lips, so those are a total pass for me. I must admit that some of the colours are terribly pretty, though!
