It looks really promising! I likely don’t need this since I probably have dupes of these, but If I was in the market for a holiday palette I may give this a try.

I love the packaging on this! The colors are so basic but I would totally get it if there were more matte or satin colors. Guess I’ll have to pass on this one.

New money is gorgeous, but feels a but out of place here. I’m still not a big TF fan, but nice to see the quality seem to improve somewhat (the shimmer look okay at least)

Thank you for the information Nancy. I am a nurse, as you know, and I have never heard of this. I have a pretty severe allergy to sulfa. I get large sores in my mouth and on my lips and they get so deep that pieces of my lip will literally fall out. I have used several of the TF palettes/scented products and have not had any trouble so I consider myself lucky. I will be much more careful with it in the future.

Nancy, it was only thanks to you – back whenever – that I found out it was my adored Semi-Sweet palette causing the frequent pimples around my eyes – and even styes! I had spent a lot of time and effort ruling out hygiene, skincare, and diet when the solution was so simple. Then I realized it was also a problem with my TOOTHPASTE! It’s really good you keep sharing this warning. New people find out each time, don’t they?

I fantasize about TF releasing a fragrance free special edition chocolate vault.

I’m just happy to help, Joanna! To be honest, I had no idea that sodium saccharin was a sulfa until my misadventure almost 4 years ago when I bought the OG Chocolate Bar Palette. Mind you, I did use it 4 days straight in a row. Why I didn’t stop after that 3rd day, I have no idea. But I should have. I didn’t even recognize the connection between my constant sores inside my mouth and look for sodium saccharin as an ingredient until around 2 years ago! I now use Tom’s Of Maine, and that issue has disappeared, thank goodness.

Wendy Avatar

This is really interesting – thanks for the info about sodium saccharin. I am also allergic to sulfa drugs and have been using Sensodyne Pronamel Toothpaste for a few years, and have never had an issue. In fact, it’s one of the only toothpastes that I DON’T get horrible mouth sores with… and it has sodium saccharin. I wonder if everyone has a certain threshold for the ingredient? I’m off to investigate this further. I wonder if some makeup is irritating me/also some foods maybe too.

Nancy T Avatar

Wendy, I believe you are absolutely correct that there really is a threshold with this and other “milder” sulfas. Before switching to Tom’s Of Maine, I too used Sensodyne Pronamel with way less issues than all the ones I had tried previously, but I did still get at least one bad sore per month. Also, with the OG Chocolate Bar Palette, the irritation and and inflammation got gradually worse over the 4 days straight that I used it. The first day, all I had was some itching in my inner corners. Nothing alarming. Attributed to our winter pollens floating around in the air. 2nd day, same itchiness and my eyelids felt heavy and puffy after just 6 hours on. Some redness upon removal. Still assumed pollen as the culprit. 3rd day, after 5-6 hours, my whites of my eyes were pink, very itchy, after removing it, they still felt sore and looked puffy, red, terrible. By now, I was wondering wtf was going on! Stupidly, I wore it a 4th day…and OMG. Very red, painful, swollen, and that’s when I decided to call Ulta to let them know what was happening and then they asked me a question that I thought was truly bizarre: ” Do you have a sulfa allergy? Because these have saccharin as an ingredient and it’s a sulfa.” I was in SHOCK.

Too Faced is blasting out palettes like a fire hose. Who can even keep up with how many they have released? It’s way too much. I have Too Faced fatigue.

Mo Merrell Avatar

I came her to see if you reviewed it as I was going to go pick it up from ulta with the 20% coupon I got. I love this because its so cute and that pink is everything but I am wondering if I need it. I’ve been getting more into palettes than lipstick so I’ve been focusing on buying palettes that are different brands to expand my eyeshadow collection. Hmm I’ll have to go in the store and see about this one.

Luna Sea Avatar

Does Ulta have a 20% coupon right now? I could not find it. Is it sent in email? I got this palette & love it. It is more pigmented in person than any pics I’ve seen online. I had no intention of even getting it, until I swatched it in store. If you like gold, silver & champagne shimmer shades then you’d love it. I own & have swatched shadows from so many brands, & this is one of the best imo!

Mo Merrell Avatar

Yes, Ulta has a 20% off even on prestige items coupon. I got mine in the mail. I think I’m going to get this one because I like the shimmer of it.

Katherine T. Avatar

I ordered mine from Ulta yesterday, got 5x points, and it already shipped this morning! I only have 1 Too Faced palette, and this one swatches much better than the 10 other ones they had, and I can’t resist chocolate or gold, so in the cart it went. I wish they had a medium or dark matte brown in here, but Chocolate Gold and Holla for Dolla look amazing!!!

The golds and shiny colors in this look so pretty, and the coverage in the swatches looks even and smooth. I looked at the ingredients information on the TF site because I like some of these colors, and I saw that the pink color comes with a notation that it shouldn’t be use in the eye area. So you get an eye shadow that you can’t put on your eyes. Why does that not make any sense to me?

Matthew C Avatar

The american fda hasn’t approved certain pigments for the eye area because they are known to stain eyelids. The EU equivalent doesn’t have a problem with these pigments. Unless you have sensitive eyes, it’s probably not a big deal.

Similar warnings have appeared on the UD Electric Palette and MUFE Lustrous Palette. I hope this is informative

Deborah S. Avatar

I had to laugh at the shade, “So Boujee” because it doesn’t look very boujee to me. Otherwise, the palette looks very good for TF. I think I am duped out on these shades so won’t be picking this up but hopefully it reviews well for those who are interested.

Luna Sea Avatar

I just got this & it is so stunning & pigmented. I had not planned to get it, but it was so beautiful in person. If you like gold& champagne shimmer shades you will love it. If you get it from Ulta, go to your “Bonus Offers” on your profile & activate the “5x points on select eyeshadow palettes”. The Too Faced Chocolate Gold palette is included in this offer. Happy Holidays everyone! ?✨
