Chanel Candeur et Experience Eyesahdow Quad

Here’s a look at the new Chanel Fall 2016 Collection. I’m working on testing everything now and will have reviews shortly. These are all of the pieces I purchased for review, and I did not purchase things like the eyeliners/lip liners.

The palette seems a portable version of Anastasia modern Renaissance. A bit boring, since a lot of brands have already proposed these colors…. I think I will buy the Anastasia one. The quality is great and the colors are similar. If you find this palette with a unique texture let us know ?

Not gonna lie, I saw this on the counter on Monday and got the quad, blush and Rouge Audace. These are like my dream colors, loved the whole collection! The liners were all pretty dupable. But the rest – OMG, can’t wait to wear. I have green eyes and am fair, the collection really suited me.

Meagan, I’ve been eyeing that new Chanel Stylo Eyeliner called Eros (burgundy red), but it’s $33 (eeek!!!). Do you know of a dupe?

Meagan Avatar

It reminded me of an Urban Decay 24/7 color I had a few years ago that I don’t think is current and I’m blanking on the name. It just didn’t strike me as special as the other pieces, but it was pretty and I definitely tried it on with the palette at the Nordstrom counter.

I love Profond, but I most likely have 2/3 dupes in my stash so I won’t even consider buying that.
Brule and Rouge Vie are seriously wanting me to break my low-buy, but I’ll see what dupes you come up with first Christine.
I can’t wait for dupes for #3 and #4 of the eyeshadow quad too.

The blush and the Illusion de Ombre’s Rouge Brûlée are going home with me! Maybe the quad- but only if I feel the need for color #3. I rarely purchase the quads anymore because I never want all 4 shades of their choice. I’d rather work with singles, or at most duos.
Cannot wait to see how you style this collection Christine!

Yay! I picked the quad up last week but was still waiting on the Illusion d’ Ombres – the swatches look underwhelming? Glad I waited. The lipsticks look great! Can’t wait for the reviews and to see your eye look!

This collection has been available for a few weeks now. I bought quad Candeur et Expérience and the Illusion d’Ombre in Rouge Brûlé. On my eyes the quad applies smoothly, blends like a dream, and doesn’t fade or crease. Many a young woman will want to rock the red, but for us senior citizens, the russet-red shade adds warmth and dimension to the brown shades without shouting “Red!” In other words, no one should fear it. It’s a beautiful shade. For evening, I like to add a light glaze of Rouge Brûlé over the moveable lid which creates an ember glow. Both the quad and the Id’O offer numerous options. Overall, it’s a sophisticated and well planned collection.

Looks like the perfect classic Fall collection. I don’t need any of those colors, as I have close-enough dupes, but all-together they’re inspiring. I might bookmark this page to remind myself to play with these colors. Or, I’ll wait for your official review and take inspiration from your look. ?

Hope I can resist. Every lip, now. Blush, tres oui. Quad, the muted aspect and the hit of red, understated, ageless. The only ones I’m not craving are the illusions, prob only bec I haven’t tried them. Much as I hate overused and overextended lingo, this is very well curated. (Significant self talk about why you don’t need this. Well, that has worked with mod ren so far….)

Oh thanks for the swatches! I’ve been eyeing that quad, as I saw another blogger do a gorgeous gradient look with it. But I think I can dupe the look with the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. The only shade that’s really unique is the gorgeous red #3, but if I mix some colors in the ABH, I might be able to come close enough. I can safely skip the red blush (don’t wear it often) and red lipsticks, as I have enough, but they all look gorgeous, esp. #59. BTW, I’m desperately trying to find a dupe for the Stylo Eyeliner in Eros (burgundy red). If anybody knows of a dupe, please let me know, or I might be out $33, eeeek!!!

I’d say it’s a rather daring collection for a brand like Chanel, even though red eyeshadow is trending right now it’s certainly out of the comfort zone for many Chanel loyal customers.
Personally I think the quad is interesting to look at but doesn’t have what it takes to work on its own. The two medium browns will likely look very similar on the eye, having just different undertones, and the lighter brown is not light enough to be a highlight. And red doesn’t work on me so it’s a pass! The lipsticks are very nice, Rouge Vie is particularly beautiful.

Darn it! There is something about Chanel autumn palettes that suck me in. Think I will grab Rouge Vie as well.

Anyone know when it will be arriving in the UK?

It’s a beautiful collection that I just saw in person yesterday. I love the lipsticks, especially Rouge Vie and Rouge Tentation. Red blush is a no-no for me as I can get red in the cheeks. Not sure the red in the eyeshadow palette would work for me, The cream shadows look interesting. Look forward to your review, Christine.

I thought this collection was absolutely beautiful when I swatched in-store. I still haven’t been able to wear it so your review will probably be up before I do. I’m interested in hearing how you like it.

The waiting is the hardest part 🙂 Great sneak peek! I saw these in person at Nordstrom, but it was close to closing and I didn’t want to delay anyone from going home, so I only quickly swatched the blush. It was pretty, but seemed to go on a little uneven, but that was a quick swatch from the display on the back of my hand, so, I’m hoping that’s not the case in real life application. The lipsticks are just beautiful. The eyeshadow quad is not my cup of tea, but I commend Chanel for doing something a bit edgy. The Chanel Beauty Advisor, who was very fair with gorgeous red hair and green eyes, was wearing it and it looked amazing on her as did the blush. Can’t wait to see the full reviews! Thanks, Christine.

I wanna have it all! After a long time a Chanel quad that I like. And the reds… Awesome. Audace, Vie and Tentation are so on my list!

I got candeur et experience, illusion d’ombre rouge brûlée, & ingenue lipstick loving it all. I think the Kylie Cosmetics Burgundy eye palette is similar, I own that, I do not own ABH Modern Ren nor MAC Cranberry but that #3 is a ringer for the middle shade in Kylie’s but chanel is better quality. The CeE palette #3 & #4 are amazing. You can take a spoolie & put a little Rouge Brûlée on your lashes.
