It's Fire
Smashbox It’s Fire Photo Edit Eye Shadow Trio ($22.00 for 0.11 oz.) contains a light yellow, rich orange-gold, and deep copper. Two shades were fairly good while one was a definite miss, but it would be essential to use this formula over a primer and to use the shimmers with a dampened brush to maximize coverage, blendability, and application.

Pixel Dust
Pixel Dust is a bright, sunshine yellow with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had good color coverage in a single layer, while the texture was soft, blendable, and just somewhat powdery (an improvement compared to other shades in the trios!). It applied decently over bare skin but was easier to work with over a primer. This shade wore well for seven hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to be "super-blendable" and "richly-pigmented." I found the quality to vary a lot from shade to shade, even with a trio, as some shades had soft, blendable texture and others were drier, dusty, and messy to work with and had pigmentation that sheered out or faded quickly. I wanted to like them more than I ended up after using them on the lid as I routinely felt like the brighter shades never looked quite as vibrant in practice as they did in the pan. Most of the shades were blendable and had coverage from medium to opaque with a few being sheer. They lasted anywhere from five to eight hours on me.

Pushup Bronze
Pushup Bronze is a medium, coppery orange with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The pigmentation was opaque, but the consistency was firmer and chunky to work with, which resulted in harder-to-blend edges and some fallout due to the larger sparkles. On me, it lasted for seven hours with additional fallout over time.

Not *terrible*, but I’m sure I have better shades either in my arsenal or about to be! CP Side Kick for instance. Thing is, these are all in one place, so Idk? ?
I’m kind of glad these aren’t scoring well? But also disappointed? Haha. I know most of these are nothing I don’t have dupes for many times over, but I’m really attracted to the idea of having them in such a conveniently sized package. I don’t travel much, but one of these in neutral tones and one with a pop of color and you’re good to go! Just not as tempting if they don’t perform. I’ll just keep an eye out for the bronze and teal one (On Location), sooo pretty.
This one is not too bad, although I think the gold shades would ultimately look too similar to each other on the eye. Thank you for the review Christine.
Nice trio of shades, it’s inspired to do a look with just these 3 shades.
