Sephora Trippin & Festival Lights Lipstories Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Trippin (50)
Sephora Trippin (50) Lipstories Lipstick ($8.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium lavender with strong, cool undertones and a cream finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in a single stroke with just a bit of translucency in some places as it did not adhere as evenly as it could have. The texture was lightweight, creamy with moderate slip, and for the type of shade, it went on impressively–but there was still a little room for improvement! It wore well for four and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing.

Formula Overview
$8.00/0.14 oz. - $57.14 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "lightweight" with "full-coverage color in one swipe." The majority of shades were pigmented with semi-opaque to full color payoff in a single layer, as described. The more shimmery shades tended to be a bit sheerer overall, while the mattes and creams were usually closer to opaque in coverage.
The textures were typically creamy, lightweight, and not too thin or too thick on the lips, so they were comfortable to apply and to wear. There were some shades where the color pulled into my deeper lip lines upon application, and it was more or less noticeable just depending on the color and finish of the particular.
Some shades seemed hydrating and others were non-drying. They lasted anywhere from three to over six hours on me. There was a subtle, sweet, fruity scent (I couldn't detect it on, just in the tube), and I haven't noticed any taste after wearing them.

Festival Lights (51)
Sephora Festival Lights (51) Lipstories Lipstick ($8.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep copper with warm, red undertones and gold and copper sparkle. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied fairly evenly across my lips, though I could feel the texture of the glitter as I glided the lipstick over my lips. It was fairly comfortable to wear as there was enough slip to keep it from feeling clingy but not so much that it moved around too readily while worn. This shade stayed on well for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating.

Both of these shades are lovely!
Festival Lights is a really lovely shade, Christine – I might get myself a backup!
Trippin’is such a beautiful color! But far too bluish and cool to look good on me. My teeth would look awkwardly yellow!
On the other hand; Festival Lights has me swooning over its reflective quality! It just looks so gorgeous. And at $8, it’s a good deal.
Festival Lights is coming my way – I just hope Sephora here stocks it. Beautiful shade for me.
I like both, though pastell-y shades are not for me. Festival Lights on the other hand will probably have a place in my ever growing stash of lipsticks. So pretty, and I do love some sparkly lips.
I think it looks really lovely on you, and the make up is gorgeous.
I really like festival lights. I love orange, but it makes me look jaundiced so no orange red or orange lippies for me…but this might just be different enough and more towards rusty brown that would work for me. And if not, I’m not out too much money.
Festival Lights is in my sights.
Festival Lights is gorgeous – makes me wish we had Sephora in the UK.
