The Colorful Blush formula is supposed to be long-wearing, buildable, and have a lightweight texture. My experience with the formula has shown that they’re soft, lightly powdery at times (some are worse than others) with semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage that blends fairly well and lasts seven to eight hours. There is some variance between shades, but there are some gems in the range. Over the Moon had semi-sheer to semi-opaque, buildable color coverage with a natural sheen that was noticeable without being shimmery. The texture was lightly powdery, thinner than other shades, but it didn’t look powdery on my skin, at least. It lasted for seven hours before there was noticeable fading. From what I can tell, this has since been discontinued, but I have heard you can still find it in some stores. As I had already tested it, I figured I might as well finish it up, but not to worry, it’s merely a bonus review for the day. It’s a shame it was discontinued, though, as a more budget-friendly option for a lavender-hued blush would have been quite welcome.

P.S. — This was the last of the Sephora blushes I had to review! All done 😀

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Hi Mariella,

Yes, it appears to be discontinued 🙁 I included this in the last paragraph, “From what I can tell, this has since been discontinued, but I have heard you can still find it in some stores. As I had already tested it, I figured I might as well finish it up, but not to worry, it’s merely a bonus review for the day. Isn’t that wild? I thought these were all newer releases. Ahhh well – I guess they’re following in the footsteps of MAC (heaven forbid). MAC’s new Canadian website is so awful AND it looks like they have discontinued almost all of the Pro-Longwear eyeshadows. STUPID!

Wow! This is sooo pretty, what a shame they DC’d it! I mean, yeah, I know this shade would never work on my skintone, but my oh my, what a lovely option for those with much fairer skintones!

It’s hard to find blushes of this color at this price. I was planning to stop by Sephora today, hope I can find in store to swatch

YESSS! I found 2 left in store, and grabbed one of them. Such a hard color to find, and price is right. It’s pretty, reminds me of Clinique Pansy pop but a little pinker. Sorry this is off track, but I don’t know if you’re planning to buy the Burberry A/W 15 shadow palette (the one with the camouflage design)? I swatched it in store today, and it was HORRIBLE! It was hard and dry as dust, and after I tried to mix the colors as advertised, the colors looked muddy on the skin, and it made a muddy mess on the palette. And it was a brand new tester, had never been touched before. I posted a comment today under your 8/15 posting to warn others. But save your $70

im so sad this is discontinued, i was hoping to find it in store near me but no luck :(. is it in any way similar to the clinique pansy pop blush?

Katherine T. Avatar

I have both. On my light/light medium skin, both have cool lavender tones, but Pansy Pop pulls more lavender, and Over the Moon pulls a little more pink.

Since this is DC’ed, I really have to suggest MAC Full of Joy for anyone looking for a lavender blush. I bought it as soon as I saw it reviewed here and have been very happy with it. It comes up as a beautiful pinky-purple on my fair/neutral skin if I apply with a heavier hand, but it is also a lovely cool toned highlight if used more lightly, which I think could make it workable for darker skintones as well. Too bad about this one, since it is such a good price point!

WHY!?! I have this blush and love it! It’s a great dupe for Sex Fantasy and I was so happy when I discovered it. I really hope they bring it back or I’ll be on another one of my crazy-obsessive search missions! 😉
