The formula is supposed to give a “natural, seamless luminescence” to the skin with “natural-looking color.” The texture was smooth, firmer, and had no powder kick-up like Stardust, but it had less color payoff, too. This shade had medium coverage, and on my skin tone, it didn’t impart noticeable color and lightened the area I applied it slightly. When applied, it gave the skin a luminous glow that did not emphasize pores, and I think it is hard to overdo. On my normal-to-dry skin, it lasted for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably. This is going to be ideal for someone who is very fair to light-medium in complexion and likes a subtle, but noticeable, highlight.

I know the swatch looks “meh”, almost invisible, but as I get older and drier (esp. during winter), I use these kinds of products as all-over face powders. I use a full coverage foundation, so I don’t need a full coverage powder, just something that sets the foundation a little, doesn’t settle into lines/pores, and gives a subtle glow.
Yeah, I totally understand, Katherine! I think these could use some more claims/better descriptions – only two shades but they are pretty different in coverage!
I wish it had a little more payoff. I am afraid it wouldn’t even show up on my skin. I will probably pass this one.
I hear ya, Shang! I wish the base was more prominent, just a touch.
Probably not going to do much for my skin as a highlighter. And I do have the LM Matte Highlight 01, which does give me a perfect highlight for the cooler months, so I think I’ll pass this one up.
You are totally covered with the LM 🙂
Sephora really does have some incredible products. $14 for this or upwards of $40 for some other products…I know what I’d choose! I’ve nearly caved and bought both this and Stardust but promised myself I’d make a dent in at least one of the highlighters I already own before buying another. My Hourglass Ethereal looks like it’s got a hole or crack in it….almost like I’ve hit an empty spot below the surface where there was no product. I imagine it’s only a matter of time til it crumbles and it’s not something i’d repurchase so it’ll probably be one of these beauties (or both) when that happens.
They do! I’m both surprised and unsurprised, given the type of data they must have gathered on beauty purchases!
I agree, this is better suited for lighter skin tones. I do like the subtle glow it imparts!
Definitely! 🙂
That’s pretty subtle. I could almost use it as a finishing powder.
That is a real possibility!
I love that lip colour on you Christine!
Thanks, Yenners! 🙂
I use this for inner tear duct highlight, and sometimes mixed with my peach setting powder under eyes.
Oh, I bet that is pretty!
Great daytime product and great price!!! If only I could get the money I wasted on all the highlighters and browsers except for my Laura Mercier #1 and a couple browsers. My granddaughter is 22 and has a darker complexion. She loves the gifts.
Since it’s mostly sparkle and no color I don’t think it’s for me.
I like that it’s a subtle highlighter – more natural and easy to use for every day makeup. This would probably work for my pale skin too.
I really like this! I will swatch it for sure, and it might just find a home here, where it can play with the other highlighters. What fun!
