Round-up: MAC A Fantasy of Flowers Collection
MAC A Fantasy of Flowers Collection
If you love the Mineralize formula, this collection might be right up your alley, as it features Mineralize Eyeshadows, Blushes, and Skinfinishes. If you like sheerer, softer, almost faded shades for eyes, perhaps the eyeshadows in this collection will work well for you, as they will yield that look quite easily. The big takeaway is that, in my experience, Mineralize products have shorter wear times; instead of getting closer to eight, they tend to average six or so. The textures of the products were on the powdery side. If you’re a fan of MAC’s Lustre lipstick finish, this collection features six shades with that finish, and the lipsticks seem to be the most popular part of the collection. Just to reiterate, I found this year’s Perfect Topping, Stereo Rose, and Lily White to be significantly different from their previously released versions. You can find the collection line at Nordstrom and Macy’s.

The collection is so not me. 🙂 Still got the heavenly hybrid lipstick though! 😉
Ahh! You didn’t escape unscathed then 😉
Thank you so much for your quick and honest reviews, Christine! I really appreciate it since I´m often overwhelmed with new collections. Honestly, this collection seems to be disappointing, especially regarding the comparison between the press release pictures and the real deal swatches. I might pick up Dreaming Dahlia, but I have to check it out in person at the counter.
No problem, Ivana! 🙂
not impressed… I’ll be skipping this one.
Not a bad idea!
I really, really wish MAC would do away with their mineralize eye shadows, or find some way to make them more pigmented and last long. Every time they come out with new colors, the quality is not up to par, and for the price is not worth it at all. I’m saddened that Stereo Rose skin finish is drastically different from past. I agree with Christine, if they were going to change the color, they should have changed the name. I think the lipsticks, glosses and eye liners will sell better. I’m skipping this collection 🙁
Yup – if they can’t make them about the same in color over time, name it something else. Plenty of names to go around!
I really want to get my hands on that green pigment!!! 🙂
It’s lovely!
‘If you like sheerer, softer, almost faded shades for eyes, perhaps the eyeshadows in this collection will work well for you, as they will yield that look quite easily.’
😀 The polite way you phrased this made me smile. You rock, Christine!
I like the colour of the purple fluidline, and the chartreuse pigment, but I don’t think I’ll have to rush out to the MAC store when this collection gets here. I like the collection’s ‘colour concept’ though.
Ahh, I know some are after that exact look, and if it wasn’t for the shorter wear times of Mineralize products, I would more happily recommend those products to someone after a softer look!
Well they did get the name of the collection right as it definitely reminds me of spring and flowers! I am not sure that these colours are definitely me but I do love the orange coloured blush up there!
It’s very spring-y for sure!
I was quite looking forward to this collection as I am a huge fan of the MSFs that were going to be re-released (SR, and PT). It’s so disappointing to see that they didn’t really live up to the hype. Maybe I’ll check them out in-store, and hopefully they will swatch more like the older ones!
Fingers crossed for ya, Stephanie!
Is anybody else getting a 404 error when clicking on the link to the MSF reviews & swatches? All the other links seem to be ok, but the MSF link just isn’t working.
Hoping Petal Power will be in stock at my local counter tomorrow. That’s the only thing I want out of this entire collection.
Hi Sandra!
Here’s the link again – hopefully it works! http://www.temptalia.com/mac-perfect-topping-2014-stereo-rose-2014-mineralize-skinfinishes-reviews-photos-swatches
Not keen on this collection, not tempted by one thing actually which for me is rare.
Maybe next time!
Are you going to review the purple pigments from this collection?
No, they’re long-standing permanent shades!
Oh wow! I had no idea! I’m so glad you told me. I would have been rushing to buy a permanent color! Thank you so much for your reviews! They have really helped me with my decisions! I’m new here, but I’ll be sticking around! Love it!
No problem! Pink Pearl is a PRO color still I believe, so you can buy it online (anyone can!) or in PRO stores for in-person, but Violet is permanent!
And MAC has increased their prices, so I think that effects the prices you had originally listed for these items. 🙁
Hi! Are you sure that Nordstrom doesn’t sell mac fake products??? Because prices are too attractive. thanks
Yes, Nordstrom is a legitimate retailer for MAC products.
I’d love to buy heavenly hybrid but they were sold out by the time I got the the Mac website. Do you think they’ll re-stock or was it a one-time thing? Thx.
Have you tried any of the other retailers like Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Dillard’s, etc.?
I loved your review and I had to go in person to see it. my only disappointment was the eye shadows. I tend to return any mineralized shawdow from them. I just don’t like them. The lipsticks are amazing I purchased two the snapdragon and heavenly hybrid. I also purchased both skin finishes I’m in love with them I didn’t get the last stereo rose 🙁 but I do love this one I will be using it more as a blush then a highlighter :). The collection is not the best but the only reason I didn’t buy the eye shadows is because I know I have some similar to and I didn’t need sheer shadows. The best thing of the collection is hands down the lipsticks 🙂
I’m happy to hear you’re still enjoying your Stereo Rose, Marilyn! 🙂
