Formula Overview
$20.00/0.12 oz. - $166.67 Per Ounce
The formula is described as "buttery, pigment-rich, [and] soft matte" that gives "pure comfort all day." The shade range offered mostly opaque to fully opaque coverage in one layer, and the lipsticks applied smoothly without tugging or dragging, but they were not overly emollient--they had more of a velvety glide.
Some of the lighter shades were more prone to separate along deeper lip lines, though it wasn't really noticeable in person until a few hours into wear. I will note that this formula was one of the least likely to separate out of the more modern "soft matte" type of lipsticks that have launched in the last few years, so it was ultimately better than expected, even if not perfect! The more mid-tone and deeper shades were most forgiving, smoothest in appearance, and did last longer.
Most shades wore for around four hours with a few getting closer to five hours. They were more non-drying to barely hydrating, but the formula was comfortable enough to wear throughout the day.
It had a soft, sweet and floral scent that was hard to notice once on, and there was no discernible taste.

Funny how I just bashed a bronzer for being too orange, but just put an orange looking lipstick on my WL! I don’t know if it would even look okay on me, so I’ll just wait until it’s safe to get a sample at Sephora.
Trying to leave a comment on the eyeshadow finish thread but can’t – the “post comment” and “join discussion” links both take me to the top of the page so I thought I’d try this one and it’s working. Just wanted to let you know about the glitch, Christine.
Fixed!
I guess that’s the thing with most matte lipsticks – I do feel that they settle into your lip lines. Popular shades, but too orangey/peachy for me.
These Rare Beauty lipsticks are just beautiful, right down to the architectural shape of the lipstick itself. and I love the concept of the names in relation to speaking. I want to see these lipsticks in person and may buy one or both as they are two of my most-used colors. I look forward to seeing any other colors in this line.
