Rare Beauty Confident Energy Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Confident Energy
Rare Beauty Confident Energy Eyeshadow Palette ($25.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that features six, shimmery eyeshadows. It’s the brand’s first foray in powder products as well as full-on eyeshadows, and wow, I was impressed–they were intensely pigmented, creamy and blendable, and long-wearing. It was a real pleasure to use; no guesswork, no tricks, just eyeshadow that performed exactly as expected based on the brand’s claims.

Trust
Trust is a bright, light chartreuse that leaned slightly greener paired with a metallic finish. The texture was soft, smooth, and moderately dense with a bit of creaminess, but it wasn’t too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan, so it was easy to use with a dry brush and had excellent adhesion and blendability. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before creasing faintly.

Elevate
Elevate is a bright, medium bluish-teal with a lightly sparkling, metallic finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, creamy consistency that had some glide to it without being too thick or too dense/firmly-pressed into the pan.
I didn’t have any issues picking up product with a dry brush, and the product adhered well to bare skin. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before creasing slightly.

Strong
Strong is a rich, medium-dark brown with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The eyeshadow had opaque color payoff that adhered well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product that didn’t emphasize lid texture, despite having a slightly thicker, creamier consistency.
The product picked up well with a dry brush and diffused nicely along the edges. It wore well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Gutsy
Gutsy is a medium-dark gold with moderate, warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. The texture felt smooth, dense, and lightly creamy without being too slippery, so it adhered well to bare skin and didn’t turn patchy as I diffused and blended it out. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Will-Power
Will-Power is a soft, almost white gold with a subtle, green-to-gold shifting pearl woven throughout a lightly, metallic finish. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable with light creaminess and a moderate density to it, though it wasn’t quite as dense as the other five shades in the palette (just in comparison).
It had opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin as the eyeshadow spread and diffused without difficulty. This shade stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Boost
Boost is a medium, orange-leaning coral with a subtle, peach-to-pink shift that gave it a pearly finish. It had rich color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily without losing its intensity. The texture was slightly denser, cream-like, and seemingly-thick in the pan, but it didn’t appear that way on my skin. It wore well for eight hours before creasing faintly.

Wow so pretty and I’m glad it’s good quality. I just bought this one and will pick up the purple one during the Sephora sale.
WOW! When I first saw the palette I didnt think much of it, but after seeing your review I am soooooo tempted. I don´t own many colorful eyeshadows, so I think this would be a good option. Thank you Christine!
I have dupes galore for most of these shades, but I hope she creates more palettes like this. They are beautiful, and the price is pretty reasonable.
Selena and Mario’s palettes make this finish shine, no pun intended. Think the Selena palettes will be best sellers, esp when you consider the eye emphasis, since masks. Good work.
Oooooh, good point regarding the eye emphasis, since masks!!! Way to go Selena Gomez:). I also really believe in the message behind the Rare Beauty brand – attention and positivity towards mental health. A great message combined with a great product is a win-win to me!
Must get this! Especially for the white gold duochrome and the peach shades being unique to my stash, but also for the sublime quality overall.
That eye look you did has me wishing like crazy that I could wear strong shimmers/metallics in my crease! Gorgeous look, Christine!
It was such a fun palette to use!
Thank you!
I’m looking at this palette and thinking that this might be a good little pop of color add on palette.
Now that I’m looking at these a bit more closely, these are actually colors I’d wear in the fall. I think the value is reasonable and I like the slim packaging. I’m actually considering getting these and I wasn’t before (excellent quality, color selection, packaging, price and a talc-free formula? That’s not often found). It’s a pity these are only limited edition: I might try to wait for a deal since I’m in no hurry for more shadow as my eyelids are still recovering from a reaction to an eyecream.
Poor eyelids! Hope they get better soon!
Wow – these eyeshadows are all stunning and absolutely perfect. It’s so good to find a new brand that has delivered on its claims and is reasonably priced, after all the disappointments from some major brands in the beauty market – UD, Colour Pop etc.
Your eye look is just beautiful Christine.
Thank you, Genevieve! 🙂
Ive been staring at this for a bit, wondering what it reminds me of. Then it hit me, it reminds me of a Pat Mcgrath Decadence. Glad it has a good rating though, nice start to Selenas Eyeshadows
This reminds me of the holiday palettes MAC used to put out every year (when they were, at least to my sensibilities at the time, good quality).. Simple, beautifully packaged color stories that could easily be incorporated into one’s stash during the season as well as after. Workhorse shades as well as shades to pair with other products. I’m seeing a lot of focus on packaging and less on quality now, I’m mainly speaking of Too Faced and the like.
The price point on these palettes is perfect. It seems like this brand launch echoes the Fenty beauty launch, and with that in mind I’m so happy Rare beauty has released two separate color stories at a lower price individually as opposed to Fenty and the somewhat gimmicky outer space collection they released for holiday after launch. The market is quite a bit more geared toward minimalism now, which might explain that.
I swatched this at Sephora today. The swatches were pigmented, metallic, buttery, incredible. I have a lot of blues but nothing like this one. Turquoise is my favorite color, so I just had to see this in person before I bought and it didn’t disappoint. Will be picking up on a sale, since it’s permanent collection…
Seeing your review makes me want to try this palette, Christine:). I am a 40 yr old who tends to stick to more neutral tones overall, yet when I see each individual swatch and grade from you, it makes me think I can use these with a soft hand or maybe just as an eyeliner look. Kjh (below) made a great point by reminding us to emphasize our eye looks since we will be wearing masks for the foreseeable future. Super valid, in my opinion!
Do you have any pops of color in any other palettes you already own? That might be a way to start! 🙂
I do. Maybe not as bright, but I do have a couple of pops of color in a palette or two. I absolutely LOVE ❤️ looking through your looks to get step-by-step and inspirational ideas. We have the same skin tone, and you help a make-up amateur like me. 🙌 #newloyalfan
Aww! 🙂 Glad to help!!
