The formula is supposed to be "buildable" with "superfine glitter" that "dries down quickly and really stays put." For more opaque coverage, the brand recommends removing the wiper (the black component inside the opening of the tube) to get a lot more product on the brush, though I've found this to be messy and easy to over-apply (with a very long dry-down time).

When the wiper is left in, it is a fairly sheer to semi-sheer coverage product that is difficult to get in a long, even line. My best advice is to apply in short strokes and going back for more product as needed or use a separate brush to apply. Once in place, the formula lasts a really long time--eight to nine hours--with minimal fallout.

Claims / Ingredients

Like a gateway drug to hardcore sparkle, Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner provides a heavy dose of glam-rock—minus the frequent stints in rehab. Get all the glitz of glam rock, minus the spandex or bad hair. Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner features superfine, multi-dimensional glitter in a clear, water-based formula that’s buildable, dries down quickly, and stays put for long wear without any fallout. The thin-tipped brush gives you control and creates precise fine lines. Want more sparkle? Use the side of the brush to sweep sparkle all over your lids. Wear it alone, apply it over Urban Decay’s eyeshadow or eye pencil, or turn up intensity by layering multiple shades together.

Purple color faded to dull silver. First noticed this on a store tester but assumed it was due to prolonged exposure to fluorescent light. Soon enough my own started to fade despite being kept in a dark bag in climate controlled conditions. Otherwise formula is extremely comfortable and longwearing with no cracking or peeling.

These are really great glitter eyeliners! They apply the perfect amount of glitter so that you don't have to go over and over the same line a million times but it also doesn't apply chunky or anything. Also, I love the color selection. My favorites are the purple and the gold. If you're looking for a high quality glitter liner, look no further because this is it!

A very pretty light blue glitter that is great to use to liven up any eyeshadow look from very basic to more dramatic. They're extremely easy to use because it's not obvious when it's applied with a less practiced or steady hand. I really recommend it for someone wanting to add a bit of sparkle to their looks if their budget will allow it. However, it can take quite a bit of building to get a good amount of glitter, which is a shame considering the price. This is coming from someone who loves to go full-on with any look though, so if you prefer the option of a less glittery look, or the ability to build up the amount of glitter then this shouldn't be a problem at all for you.
