Be Legendary Matte Lipstick

Too pale for me to wear on its own (unless I'm in an eccentric mood!), but I find this shade to be quite useful for lightening up/adding dimension to deep grayish lipsticks like MAC Stone. No detectable scent.

I Absolutely freaking 💜 Love 💜Love 💜this lipstick. Never been a purple gurl but my life has changed due to the “Legendary Smashbox Action”. I think what I like about is how it gives you the matte finish but glides on like it’s butter... Happy Muah 💋

I bought Smashbox "First Time" online during a moment of COVID boredom and I love it. It's a matte orange-red, a colour I had never worn before. (I'm a blonde "Spring" with warm undertones, so I usually go for pinkish nudes.) This shade is intense but not too garish for work. The colour has strength and presence and keeps my mouth from disappearing on Zoom video conferences. The formula is highly pigmented and lasts for hours. Unlike some mattes, it is non-drying.

I am not a fan of matte lipsticks. For the most part, I just don't like how they feel on my lips (dry and parching) or how they can look, showing up every flaw. But I got this in the shade Infrared based on the stellar reviews on MakeupAlley and I am really pleased with it. For starters, it isn't quite as drying and uncomfortable feeling as some matte lipsticks can be. It is such a glorious, flattering red that I am willing to make the effort to wear this (using a lip scrub and Bite's lip mask overnight to prep my lips). The colour is a true red with no traces of orange and while it is bright, it is very wearable. I still wear this with a bit of balm underneath both for comfort and because I like the look of a slightly more "juicy" lip. And while I wouldn't say this lipstick is moisturizing, for a matte lipstick, it IS "non-drying".
