Blue Velvet is a brightened, medium-dark blue--almost periwinkle blue to me, as there's a soft, dusty quality to it, but it doesn't overwhelm the color, so it still looks brighter. It had more of a luminous finish with a fair amount of shine. It applied evenly for the most part, but it wasn't perfect in application due to the higher slip in the formula.
