Editor's Review

From NARS’ website, their blush formula is described as “beautifully pigmented” and “soft [and] blendable.” NARS' blushes, since they've been released in such a massive range of shades over the years, can vary from shade to shade to some degree. Most shades are pigmented with firmer, slightly stiffer consistencies that can also run on the thinner side, which allows greater control when picking up product but some of the more matte shades could be a bit more blendable or easier to work with.

Some of the more newly-released shades have softer, more yielding textures that are a bit creamier and are easier to blend out, though most of NARS' blushes are fairly blendable. The wear typically ranges from eight to nine hours with a few shades falling above or below this range.

BOTTOM LINE: Try before you buy! It's a cult classic for a reason, but is not right for everyone. PROS: -- Provides a luminous flush of pink with a hint of peachy-golden sheen -- Pigmented -- Buildable; easy to create the look you want -- Good quality, smooth, and applies evenly CONS: -- If you want a matte blush, this is NOT it. There is definite sparkle/sheen. -- The sheen/sparkle can emphasize pores and other skin imperfections.

Douceur is one of 3 Nars blushes I own, all of which I consider over-rated by the beauty community. I use this blush very rarely and prefer dupes I own from Sleek Cosmetics. 2 THUMBS DOWN

My favorite everyday blush. This is perfect for the ultra-lightskinned like me :) I don't normally wear peachy colors but this one is a big exception. Even when I don't feel like putting anything else on, I'll wear some of this.

This is probably NARS least pigmented blush, but I don't see this as a bad thing, in my NC20 skin it can be easily built to a natural color that defines my cheekbones like no other. This is my go-to blush when I want to look polished. It pairs beautifully with a red lip. I like to apply it with MAC 109 or 168, I find them good to build the color. And when I want the no make-up look, I can pretend I have cheekbones by using it lightly.

This was my first NARS blush and I love it. The young lady at the store pretty much told me this is Orgasm for women of color and well, I'm ok with that. I looove this blush and cant wait to purchase more NARS in the future.

Luster is such a beautiful color, it warms my face like no other! I love pairing it with a red lip for a night out and with a nude lip for the workplace. It is very versatile, it has shimmer but when blended I almost can't see it in my face. In my complexion it looks a bit more peach, but it is still natural looking
