Editor's Review

It is supposed to “deliver a burst of bold lip color” with a “creamy texture” and a matte finish. In general, the formula has good color payoff with a velvety, creamy consistency that covers evenly and most shades seem to make lips appear smoother but some shades were prone to pulling into lip lines as the color wore away.

The big thing about these is that they have a mostly matte finish and are more comfortable to wear than many matte formulas due to the velvety feel (almost like a silicone primer, but not quite as heavy and not clingy). The formula was neither drying nor hydrating on me. It had a sweet, plastic-like scent but no taste.

One of my favourite reds. Vibrant, warm toned and relatively long lasting. Although it’s matte I don’t find personally find it drying. I love the finish of it and the packaging is attractive too.

In general I like Maybelline's lipstick formula but I find this shade a disappointment. Streaky and wears off quickly, which is a shame because I like the colour.

This was the first lipstick I purchased from Maybelline's Creamy Matte collection, and it completely sold me on the formula of this new lipstick. Beyond the collection's impeccable creamy, moisturizing, matte formula, this color is so one-of-a-kind. Blushing Pout, at first, looks like a baby pink nude, but there is just a hint of a periwinkle undertone that catches my eye anytime I see my reflection when I'm wearing this lipstick. It's professional because of how close to a nude this shade is, but it is also unique and almost daring from how blue and cool-toned this pink wears when it is actually on the lip. This color is just so effervescently feminine that I can't help but associate it with spring flowers and strawberry ice cream.

Every shade in Maybelline's Creamy Matte collection is stellar, but this is one color that really stands out for me. It's my go-to hot pink because it makes me look and feel like a Barbie from the early 90's. This is such a fun pink that pops and always gets tons of compliments. Like all the lipsticks from this collection, it is richly pigmented in a single stroke, matte, creamy, and long-lasting.

Straight up dupe for MAC Ruby Woo, except creamier and more moisturizing. The best red lipstick I have ever or will ever own. Doesn't dry out my lips. Basically weightless. Doesn't even need a liner. I look like a pin-up girl whenever I put it on. Perfection.

If you want an affordable, natural, matte lip colour -- this is a holy grail product. Shade 660 "Touch of Spice" is perfect for me. My skin tone is MAC NC37/Matchmaster4.0/FitMe310 -- this is absolutely perfect. It's super creamy, very comfortable to wear, doesn't taste or smell like anything really. The only drawback is it does wear/rub off quite quickly. But with low price + the pigmentation, that doesn't make this run out too quick. This is my favourite drugstore lipstick.

This is one of my go-to fall lipsticks! The color payoff is amazing, they last long on the lips; you don't have to reapply during the day. Also, they are super pigmented, so you don't have to build them up, although I always like to just rub that on until it's perfection!

I love the Maybelline's Creamy Matte lipsticks but this one is dryer than the other ones. The color is beautiful and highly pigmented!

I absolutely love the shade Divine Wine. I like to pair it with sonia kashuk lipliner in plum and they go suprisingly well together. I hate wearing darker colors because I'm always paranoid they have rubbed off, but with this one I don't have to. I have worn it to concerts, to the bar, to work, and I only usually reapply once if that. Fantastic product/color. I never buy dark reds now because I don't feel like they can top this!
