Denim Genes is a bright, medium blue with subtle, cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff in a single layer with a smooth, slightly dusty consistency. I found that it had a tendency to fade on my lid (like a good pair of jeans, I guess!) within a few minutes of application, so I wasn't able to retain the vibrancy in practice as I saw in the pan. The eyeshadow also had a tendency to get patchy if I manipulated it too much. It wore well for seven hours on me.
