Hot Chocolate is a medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had a subtle sheen on my skin but wasn't shimmery or that dewy. The texture felt lightly emollient and more balm-like--more like a traditional cream product--without a full dry down.
It seemed to have more semi-opaque coverage when I initially applied it, but the formula was very prone to sheering out and was quite sheer on me once blended out. I was able to build it up slightly but found it difficult to get more than semi-sheer coverage out of the product. It lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.
