Huda Beauty Neon Orange is a discontinued eye palette that retails for $29.00 and contains 0.45 oz.

Editor's Review

Huda Beauty Neon Orange Neon Obsessions Palette ($29.00 for 0.45 oz.) includes a mix of mattes and shimmers across deep yellow to tangerine to deep fuchsia. This was the most versatile palette in the Neon Obsessions series as it had a mix of depth, undertone, and finish that made it easier to create multiple looks without them all looking the same. The quality was good across the board with the shimmers being better with fingertips or a wet brush over fluffier brushes (which is true of most of the Obsessions' shimmers), while the mattes were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. I did experience some strong staining with the fuchsia (#6) and light staining with a few other shades (noted below).

The Neon Obsessions palettes have a two-part label that peels back and reveals that they are "not intended for eye area." Many of the shades use red and yellow color additives that are permitted by the FDA (such as Red 6, Red 22, Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6) for cosmetic use but are not permitted for "eye area." Red 40, for example, is permitted for use in all cosmetics (no restrictions) in the EU (you'll need to use the Colour Index Number, which starts with "CI").

Claims / Ingredients

Each Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palette is packed with a selection of nine highly-pigmented mattes, creamy metallics, and striking shimmers, all with a smooth and blendable texture. It’s available in three neon color themes: neon orange, neon green, and neon pink.

3,5 stars in total. Love the pigmentation, and the shimmers are STUNNING! Got one star down because of the matte yellow looking alot more yellow then it turned out on the eyes. And also the 2 muted red/orange shades are very close, and see very little difference when applied on the eyes. The price also brought it down a little, I bought mine on sale, so totally worth it for me, but the original price is not worth it, unfortunatly Shimmers applied beautifully, had a little truble right in rhe corner of my eyes, probably because I have wrinkles there, so had to apply it with my finger there.

The colour story of this palette is beautiful in general, that's why I've bought it in the first place. The pigmentation and application is a different experience however. This is honestly one of the most difficult palettes I have ever owned. Mattes look beautiful in the packaging but applying them to look as vibrant on the eye is a pain. The shimmers are beautiful as well in the pan but I have tried multiple ways to apply them to my eye and have to use every trick in the book to make them stay on the lid and show some pigment. I honestly have no idea if my palette is a dud, am I the only one with such bad experience with this one? I own Huda's other palette Desert Dusk which has such lovely payoff and formula and I expected this Neon one to be the same experience. Too bad it will stay in my drawer not used, and i will look at it from time to time for inspiration.
