ColourPop Psst Cheek Dew Serum Blush ($7.00 for 0.48 oz.) is a soft, rosy plum with moderate, warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had sheer color coverage, which was difficult to build up--as marketed--and it was a challenge to even maintain sheer, even coverage as the product moved around during application.
The texture was very emollient and fluid, to the point where it was aptly described as runny, so it was easier to squeeze out a little on the back of my hand to pick up product from. I had the best luck applying this shade using a stippling brush after I swirled and diffused product on the back of my hand, almost giving it a chance to dry down before I even started working with it on my cheeks.
From there, I used a lighter-hand and feathered on the product with gentle presses of the brush against my cheek. I did one area at a time, working my way from the apple of the cheek to the temple. I let it dry down for about 10 seconds, and I tried to soften the edges using the brush, but it was always a little uneven anyway. If I tried to blend out the product more, it lifted away and got pushed around, which created patchiness. It did not apply well over base products as it was prone to lifting them up. The color lasted for five hours at best.
