Editor's Review

ColourPop Lilac You a Lot 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($12.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new addition to ColourPop's monochromatic palette series--it features a lilac theme (duh). It was definitely cooler-toned compared to the It's My Pleasure palette. I think that they could have gone full-on, cool-toned only shades of lilac and purple, though, because the shades that were most overlapping were the warmer-toned shades, like Ghostin' (Kittenfish) and Wake Me (Do or Dough).

Overall, the products performed consistently with past releases from the brand. The mattes run a little powdery but were pigmented, blendable, and wore between seven and eight hours. The shimmers were fairly smooth, a little creamy, and had good pigmentation, though I found Fluff to be on the chunky side and better with a dampened brush or fingertip. When I worked with the palette, I could have used at least one deeper shimmer.

Lilac is my favourite shade of purple, so I instantly ordered this and was not disappointed. The mauvey moody pinks complement the purples so well. There is enough depth to do a complete look with just this one palette. Imagine That is a great neutral transition shade without being boring due to its hint of pink. Cloud and Fluff are just gorgeous no matter where they are placed. I thought Ghostin' would be too neon and I was pleasantly surprised to find it looked much better on skin than in pan. Filtered is good for a smokey eye or even as eyeliner. Also the packaging is simple yet beautiful. It has rare colours, gorgeous shimmer pay off, no neons so its not gaudy, and can look elegant. Does lack depth, however, although pairing it with other palettes helps with this. To this day, ghostin' and zoned out are still colours I use weekly.
