Velvet is a deep, reddish plum with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which was easily buildable to full coverage but hard to get sheer coverage out of it. When I used a light touch and a fan brush, it was still quite bold and was harder to spread across my cheeks for sheer, even application. It was easiest to apply at more of a medium to semi-opaque coverage level and then blend from there, which wasn't too difficult. The blush lasted well for eight and a half hours.
