Patrick Ta She's So LA Double-Take Blush Duo Review & Swatches
She's So LA
Patrick Ta She’s So LA Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush ($34.00 for 0.37 oz.) includes a cream and powder blush in similar tones (despite them looking more contrasting in the pans!) with the cream designed to be layered over (rather than under, which is more typical) the powder to breathe “life” back into the skin. I actually felt like the powder blush had a skin-like finish that the cream didn’t add a lot of additional dimension/sheen, especially once blended and dried down.

She's So LA (Crème)
She’s So LA (Crème) is a light-medium brown with moderate, warm rosy undertones and a very fine, barely-there pearl. It had a more emollient consistency that was lightweight, thin, and had a fair amount of slip, though it seemed to dry down for the most part, so it didn’t slide around during wear. It had semi-sheer coverage, which was buildable to medium coverage with a second or third layer.
The product applied well over and under the coordinating powder (and on top of foundation); either method added a bit of additional sheen to the skin without changing the color much. It wore well for six hours on its own before fading noticeably and shortened the wear of the powder by a half hour when worn on top.

Formula Overview
-
The cream blush had a lightly creamy, moderately emollient consistency that applied evenly and blended out well over bare skin as well as over liquid foundation. In the duo format, the cream blush is actually designed to be layered over the powder (rather than typically under it) to add "life" back to the skin. It layered well on top of the blush to add a bit of shine without turning it into a full-on cream.
The pigmentation was sheer and buildable to semi-sheer to medium coverage, which seemed in line with the brand's marketing (though they could do a better job describing it). On its own, it lasted around six hours before fading/migrating noticeably. When I wore it on top of the powder blush, it seemed to shorten wear by a half hour to an hour.

She's So LA (Powder)
She’s So LA (Powder) is a muted, medium brown with subtle, warm rosy undertones and an ultra-fine pearl shimmer that gave it more of a satin finish. It had opaque color coverage, as described, which applied beautifully to bare skin: it blended out with ease and sat well with a skin-like finish. The consistency was smooth, velvety, and dense without being stiff nor was it too powdery.
The color lasted well for nine hours before fading a bit, though layering the cream on top shortened wear by a half hour–and the subtle sheen to the powder really didn’t look that much dewier with the cream so pairing the two together didn’t seem necessary!

Formula Overview
-
The powder blush was supposed to be "pigmented" and "weightless." The consistency was soft, lightly powdery in the pan, but it had a smoother, denser feel to it that was almost velvety without being overly firm. The powder picked up well with a brush and yielded semi-opaque to opaque color payoff in a single layer, which applied evenly and blended out easily. The formula lasted around nine hours on its own, but layering the coordinating cream shortened wear by half hour to an hour.

I’m not usually a big fan of brown blushes, but this duo is really beautiful. I like the rosy tint to the browns.
IDK. It seems illogical…maybe counterintuitive…to layer the sheer cream over the powder. At least on this one, it did not improve the product. The powder alone was rated as good as it gets. So, is this a gimmick or a good idea? Guess we’ll see with the others. The original 4 certainly needed more shades. This one at least is far more darker skintone friendly.
I received my She’s So LA Thursday!
I was hesitant when I bought as it’s so not me–browns like this. However because it wasn’t something I already had, I went out on a limb and it is a beautiful duo when I’m doing monochromatic looks this summer (almost every day right now).
I put down the powder first and it’s less brown (like you say it has rosy undertones) than expected, and then I tap the cream on top; it looks so skin-like and has a lovely sheen.
I did the same on my lids, to match and it looks so amazing.
A no-makeup summer glow-y makeup.
I’m so impressed with this formula I’m going to get another duo.
How was the wear for you, DVa?
Right now, 8 hrs in and although fading, still lovely and natural with a slight sheen.
Plus, I had a nap, which means my face was smushed against a pillow.
So, overall, I’m very happy!
I think the wear test is better than with just cream, or just powder.
That is excellent to hear! 🙂
It’s really tough when one side of a duo is excellent and the other average…..
I am really loving the rosy tan effect the powder gives! This is a shade that seems to be lacking in my cheek products that I feel would get tons of use.
How is the formula of these powder blushes compared to his single blushes that he released last year?
It’s a lot softer, more pigmented, more silicone-like.
I’ve worn this several times since receiving it, but didn’t read the whole ‘powder over cream’ thing. I’ve been wearing it the other way and it looks so healthy and nice on me. It wore through a whole 10 hour shift and then a day at my best friend’s house. Still want a cool toned pink!
I’m really torn between the Nudestix matte blush sticks and this! Longevity plays the biggest factor for me. Which do you suggest I splurge on?
Sorry, I haven’t used Nudestix (and don’t intend to)!
Would you say that the emollient texture of this Patrick Ta Double Blush could hold up nicely on combination skin in a humid climate?
Hi Ailyn,
It’s really hard to say since I have normal-to-dry skin and live in a very dry climate (mostly indoors at that!), and I’ve never lived in a humid climate before.
