Melt Cosmetics She's in Parties Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
She's in Parties
Melt Cosmetics She’s in Parties 8-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($48.00 for 0.58 oz.) is a new, likely-permanent palette that takes the brand’s original stack (which included four shades) and extends the color story with four new shades in a slim, rectangular palette form.
I felt like all of the original shades were improved here to some degree, and the additional shades were well done. They were pigmented, blendable, long-wearing, and it was an easy palette to work with. Skeleton Kiss was the only one that was ho-hum in my experience but certainly workable.

Skeleton Kiss
Skeleton Kiss is a soft, yellowed-peach base with flecks of gold-to-pink shifting sparkle. It was less of a duochrome to me as the the more powdery base came through and seemed to cover some of the shimmer/sparkle in practice. The consistency was dense, almost thick, and had some fallout during application. It had good color payoff in a single layer and stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Strange Love
Strange Love is a light-medium purple with warmer undertones and more muted, slightly cooler shimmer and sparkle that gave it a sparkling, metallic finish that shifted slightly copper at certain angles. The eyeshadow felt more loosely-pressed in the pan, so a light hand was best when picking up product, and I preferred to press it on gently to avoid fallout. It had opaque color coverage that lasted well for eight hours before fading slightly.

Total Immortal
Total Immortal is a medium-dark lavender with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had excellent pigmentation that applied well to bare skin as the color went on evenly, blended well along the edges, and maintained its intensity. The consistency was soft, finely-milled, and a smidgen powdery in the pan but not during application. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Last Caress
Last Caress is a medium-dark plum with neutral-to-warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had barely-there micro-shimmer visible in a super close-up shot, but it seemed to just ensure that the product blended out with ease on my skin as it looked matte applied. It had opaque color coverage with a soft, blendable consistency that was lightly powdery in the pan but not prone to fallout. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

She's in Parties
She’s in Parties is a deep, reddened-copper with subtle, warm undertones and a smooth, pearly sheen. The texture felt slightly drier to the touch but smooth enough and not stiff to work with, so a dry brush picked up product without difficulty. It had rich pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Sleep Walk
Sleep Walk is a rich, reddened-plum with moderate, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered well to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges. The consistency felt a bit drier to the touch, which had me concerned, but it picked up readily with a dry brush and was a cinch to apply. Meanstreak
Meanstreak is a rich burgundy with neutral-to-warm undertones paired with a matte finish. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly and blended out well–and that’s saying something as shades like this are normally workable but never easy. I was impressed by just how intense and deep the color was and yet it wasn’t a pressed pigment. The consistency was soft, smooth, and lightly powdery without being prone to fallout. There was visible fading after eight and a half hours of wear.

Strange Love and Meanstreak make my heart skip a beat. Beautybay doesn’t have the palette yet, but when they do, I will snatch this up immediately.
This is utterly gorgeous, but I worry about some of those burgundy shades pulling brown on me. I think I need to wait for more reviews and see if any one with a similar skin tone to mine has that happen.
Totally understand there Rachel – both of us have purchased Nars Subra and have found the shade just pulls a muddy brown on us. But I think this brand is way better than Nars.
I could see you rocking some of these shades too.
A lot of pale complexioned people seem to have that issue, especially if they’re cool or neutral-toned. This palette would make some gorgeous smokey eye looks, though.
I have the She’s in Parties stack and haven’t ever found it to pull brown on me, and I am very fair as well. I plan to get this palette as well, since I love the additional shades and the ones I already have in my stack (particularly the mattes) are staples for me.
That’s great to hear! Thank you.
Hi Rachel – I’m very fair with cool undertones, I also have the stack and doesn’t pull brown on me either. That being said, those original 4 shades are warmer in this palette than they are in the stack, especially the mattes, which is one of the reasons I’m not buying it. I don’t wear warm tones but, if you do, you may like this. I hope this helps!
This Palette looks gorgeous. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available in Germany, where I’m from. :-/
I’m quite sure this is going to be sold at beauty bay soon. So there is a chance for us European buyers. Just have a look sometimes to the site
I am from Germany as well. I will order from the US or just wait til it is available at Beautybay!
Beauty bay (UK based) will get it, they ship internationally too. ๐
You can get it over Beautybay as soon as it drops there! I believe over 25โฌ or something, they even do free tracked shipping to Germany.
So glad this performs well!! Definitely picking this up as a post-lockdown present for myself. ๐
Stunning! This is everything that plum and rhaspberry shade devotees would love. Not a single bad dud there (although I do agree about Skeleton’s Kiss being a wishy washy shade). I hope Urban Decay is taking notice….
I like the shades Total Control and She’s In Parties the best.
OMG, is it Strange how much I Love Strange Love? (sorrry, I couldn’t help it!)
While I do have good dupes of the other shades I really like in this palette, I’m pretty sure I’ll purchase it if it goes on sale, otherwise I’d basically be paying the full price of the palette for a single eyeshadow that has no good dupes. The shades I don’t think I’m going to like I’m afraid will pull too red on me which makes me look sickly and my eyes seem bloodshot. Not a pretty look. But, I could be surprised, I hope so!
I forgot to say how much I love the pretty packaging, and that I love your eye look!
Thank you, Pami!
Strange Love is the star of the palette, for sure.
Of course the one time I don’t just impulse buy something I think I might like from Melt due to reminding myself that it will probably end up being a let down in quality, it ends up being the first time I can remember a palette from them getting high marks. Lol
Grabbed this on Sephora. The goth song titles really sold it for me.
As much as I adore my Viseart Amethyst Palette, this one is EVERYTHING my little purple loving heart desires! Also, it is the first time a palette by Melt has completely won me over! ???
Time to make some space, because Iโve gotta have this! ?
Such a pretty palette, and a beautiful eye look !
I ordered this the moment it released and it shipped from CA to FL in 2 days, so that was impressive! I found the shades were really easy to work with and the look was so pretty I didnโt want to take it off at the end of the day. This color story is right up my alley!
I haven’t gotten a new eyeshadow palette in 84 years (or so it seems) but dang, this one makes me feel some sort of way.
All I want is Strange Love! They can keep the rest!
I’m someone who (like Genevieve) has generally eschewed all the red-toned shadows but this one is a beauty and I’m actually thinking of getting it, which (coming from me) is high praise for the palette.
This is the first Melt palette I’ve really liked and wanted. Not sure I’ll get it, but it is a beauty of a palette.
Wow, I might have to get this and toss my barely used Naked 3! Although, I have concerns about these shade pulling brown on me as well…
I have the original stack and have been waffling on whether to buy this palette or not but after seeing your swatches and review, I’m going to skip it. I’ve never been a fan of Melt’s shimmer/metallic formula so given that that only 1 out of the 4 new shadows is matte, I can’t justify the $48 price.
Also, I’m disappointed by how warm this palette is. It seems that, in addition to updating the formula, Melt altered the color of the original 4 stack shades, making them as warm as the 4 new shades.
I’m glad this rated well, I got it in the mail today and immediately played with it. Glad it wears as well as its swatches.
I need that matte burgundy in my life
The only thing unique about this palette to me is Meanstreak. The dupes don’t really hit close despite their higher percentage rating. However, I feel very unsafe and uncomfortable from purchasing from this brand.
Wow, this is lovely. The color story seems like the sort that I would see on an extremely fashionable, extremely cool and intimidating gorgeous person but turns out to be really super nice. Although maybe that’s also what the name makes me think of… ๐
I have this one. I love it! Run donโt walk to get this while itโs still available.
