Leatherette

Pat McGrath Leatherette LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark brown with warm, red undertones and a satin finish. The consistency was smooth, velvety, and just creamy enough not to drag across the lips, but it adhered evenly and well to the lips for long-wear. The lipstick was richly pigmented and lasted for almost eight hours on me with a lightly hydrating formula.

Formula Overview

$40.00/0.14 oz. - $285.71 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have a "intense color payoff" with "comfort" and "rich hydration" that has a "satiny sheen." Of the shades I've tried, they are richly pigmented, long-wearing, incredibly comfortable to wear from start to finish, hydrating, and generally flattering on the lips.

The texture was smooth, velvety, and creamy enough to glide across the lips with ease but never felt slippery or too clingy. Most shades performed exceptionally well, and while pricey, they at least lived up to a lot of the claims. There was no discernible scent or taste.

Anarkissed

Pat McGrath Anarkissed LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and a glossy finish. It had a lot of slip, which was obvious given how much glossier the finish was along with how translucen tthe color it was. Instead of having opaque coverage, it had semi-opaque pigmentation that did not build up. The color felt more slippery on the lips, too, and I had slight feathering after six hours of wear (though the color hung on for nearly eight hours). The lipstick could have applied better to the lips, though for how emollient it felt, it did not pull into my lip lines as much as it could have.

Just received Leatherette after I bought it during the sale and I love it!! It was a step out of my comfort zone for sure but it’s not as straight up brown as I worried! What a shame about Anarkissed. This seems to be the sole dud based on your reviews. It’s a lovely colour but I can see exactly what you mean – the finish is very different. Not the kind of colour you want migrating!

I am still impatiently waiting for Paradise Garage to come into stock (I admit I am beginning to wonder if it ever will!)

Great review Christine and happy holidays!!

That is gorgeous on you, Christine!!
Merry Christmas, happy holidays and healthy New Year.
PS: Thanks for all your hard work (and saving us lots of cash, or in some instances, making us spend lots of cash!!). 🙂

Leatherette! Oh, that shade is everything that I love! As much as I adore my tube of Strangé because of how it lights up my entire face and I always get compliments on it, I love Leatherette, too. Only catch? They are a bit too similar to one another to entertain the idea of having both, I’m thinking.

As for Anarkissed, I’m sad. The color itself is so beautiful and is definitely my taste. But it looks grainy in texture and too thin. The feathering you experienced really kills it for me, though.

What a shame about Anarkissed. The color is beautiful; and, I am so surprised by the grade, given your praise of the other colors. I recently purchased Beautiful Creature, which is gorgeous, and wears like a dream. Both colors look stunning on you, though.

Both Look beautiful on you! But yes the second looks very slippery. Would you maybe consider just doing a quick like “Top __” of Pat McGrath products? ☺️
Have a Very Happy Holiday Christine! ⛄️

These are so gorgeous but expensive for my budget.
I had a lot of trouble figuring out what colors were what on the website. I didn’t see any color names, just photos of the different ones and you were supposed to just know (?) which one is which, I guess. I might get one for my birthday as a present to myself if only I could figure out how to use the doggoned website to order the one I pick out!
