NYX Rose Lippie
NYX Macaron Lippie

NYX Rose Macaron Lippie ($6.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a cool-toned, pastel cotton candy p ink with a semi-matte finish. The consistency of this shade was the least creamy of the entire range, though it didn’t drag or tug–it was still lightly creamy, just not slippery like other shades. It had opaque color coverage, but between the drier consistency and lightness of color, it almost looked chalky on. The color wore well for five hours, but it pulled into lip lines over time. Kat Von D Armageddon (P, $19.00) is brighter, darker. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Mannequin (P, $18.00) is darker. MAC Viva Glam Nicki 2 (LE, $16.00) is darker, more muted. MAC Snob (P, $16.00) is darker. MAC Raspberry Swirl (LE, $16.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

NYX Orange Blossom Macaron Lippie ($6.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a lightened, soft peach-orange with warm undertones and a satiny shine. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a very creamy, emollient consistency. There was a little bit of streakiness, but it applied fairly well despite the slippery formula. On me, the color lasted for four hours. The closest shade to it that I could think of was Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Covet (P, $18.00), which is much darker (I wouldn’t call it a dupe).

NYX Citron Macaron Lippie ($6.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a brightened, light-medium yellow with warm undertones and a soft shine. It applied better than one might expect, though it was somewhat streaky and not nearly as pigmented as some of the other shades in the range. It wore well for four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating.

I like the “NYX Rose Macaron Lippie” one most because this kind of colour we can use any where like in office, kitty parties and other places as well.

Rose looks like MAC Saint Germain. Orange Blossom looks a lot like what MAC Riot House does in person. Orange Blossom might be more comfortable to apply than Riot House because Riot House drags like crazy (much more than any other MAC matte I have tried).

I think that Orange Blossom looks good on you, Christine! Maybe just a bit light for fall makeup looks, but I think it could work for summertime looks.

Aw! I was so hoping Orange Blossom Macaron was going to be a little similar to MAC’s Sounds Like Noise (it fell out of my purse at work and got lost!!). Still a gorgeous color though!

Citron is kind of what I’ve always wanted MAC’s (recent) attempts at yellow lipstick/lipgloss to get to. It’s not perfect either, but at least it’s definitely, properly buttercup yellow! 😛 Or should I say…Simpsons yellow… 😉

I really love Rose. I find Orange Blossom and Citron to be oddly flattering on me, even though they are oranges. They don’t make my teeth look yellow like most oranges do, either. I agree that Citron is one of those that needs a bit extra effort. It’s a good layering color, though.

I don’t know. I’ve tried light oranges before with no luck. I’ve never tried a yellow-orange like citron. Whatever yellow and orange pigments that are used in them must cancel out my shade of “tooth dentin yellow.” As long as it works, I’m not complaining!

Wow! I never thought I’d see a day where the beautiful Christine isn’t made more beautiful by the lippies she’s reviewing! No offense, Chtistine, you still look lovely but these shades with you… Sorry. They seem fun though and I think this brand creates enough color and finishes at reasonable prices that are great to collect and use to mix together! 😀

Are you going for largest makeup collection? Haha..

Just doing my job – it’s definitely not about adding to my stash. I would prefer less, if it was just my personal stash 🙂

I like the look of Orange Blossom. I get very dry lips though despite using lip balm and drinking plenty of water! How do you think I’d fair with these? I’ve used other NYX lipsticks and didn’t get on too well with them. Are these any better?

They are very creamy to me, though not really hydrating. I think they are probably a little easier to wear than their regular range, but I don’t think it’s a lot.

I don’t think any of these would flatter my complexion, but they sure are loads of fun. And I like fun in makeup. I don’t think I’ll buy them, but I hope so much to see someone wear colours like this.
