Have you purchased beauty products from home shopping networks?

Have you purchased beauty products from home shopping networks? How was the experience? Share!

I’ve only bought a couple of products from HSN/QVC online but not because I saw a show, but online shopping was fine with them.

Yeah because they have some bomb ass exclusives and sets. I got the chocolate bar palette AND a full sized eye primer from HSN for super cheap. Also, my boyfriends mom is a QVC fanatic so I have someone to talk to when it comes to their deals. But I shop online whereas she does the shows and calling in.

I’ve bought a few things from HSN. No problems with the experiences. Sometimes it’s hard to grab a deal because they go fast, but such is life.

Some of the best deals I’ve ever gotten have been from shopping networks. The prices they sell packages of several products for are spectacular, not to mention the outright freebies they throw in on top of that such as brushes, cosmetic bags, travel sized products, etc.

My last shopping network cosmetic purchase cost me just over $175 and included over $325 worth of products, PLUS free brushes and free shipping. Amazing deal that I didn’t even have to step out the door for.

Yes! I have used QVC. I get my Wen there when they have today’s special values. I also get sets of tarte, which has great today’s special values. I get product I want, new things to try and save money. Love it!

Yes, I’ve bought BareMinerals and It cosmetics from QVC with no problem. Am constantly tempted to buy more Josie Maran products, too, especially the super-sized bottles of argan oil!

I purchase all my IT Cosmetics items (and I have a lot of them) from TSC as it’s the only place to obtain IT products in Canada. I used to purchase Pur Minerals from them also for the same reason; even when Pur Minerals became available at Shoppers Drug Mart, the deals from TSC were still so much better that I continued to purchase from them.

I have purchased many things from HSN and QVC (more QVC). They have some great deals on things you would find at Sephora, Ulta and other stores. For example, Bare Minerals. QVC often has new products first and their supersizes are great values. I discovered WEN hair care on QVC and use the cleansing conditioner to this day. I also discovered Edward Bess on QVC and his new Hair Hero product is my new fav. They have great return policies too. Not everything works but there is no need to shy away from home shopping. I do think QVC is a little higher end than HSN overall but HSN does have a few high end brands.

I bought the TF Chocolate Bar/Shadow Insurance combo from HSN, and I had a $20 off coupon, so it made the whole thing about $30 with tax.

On a side note: I love falling asleep to home shopping networks. And I’ve had a dream of being a host for one of them. I don’t even care if they start me out at the 2am Knife Showcase, just get me in front of that camera!

No, I haven’t. Are shopping channels similar to infomercials? I do not like infomercial products since they tend to go for the kill with these giant bundles of products… but WAIT…there’s more… (◐.̃◐)

Rarely do I buy a complete line from a skincare of makeup line..very rare indeed. I’ve had more success piecing together products individually. I think any savings you might realize get lost in unused products.

Same here, Ani-Bee – although Sephora was selling Ojon for quite some time (there is only one Ojon item I use so buying from TSC never made sense). It does seem that Sephora is phasing out Ojon, though, which is a shame. But they offer great values on IT Cosmetics in their Showstoppers.

Yes, a few TSV’s from QVC and recently a nice Too Faced lip set from HSN with a $20 off coupon. I really only but from them when it’s a bargain, but I do watch their beauty shows sometimes.

I actually bought my chocolate bar palette from HSN because they had a bundle (with the shadow insurance) for about 39, I think, and I used a first customer discount ($10 off). Total, I paid $30 for a palette and full sized primer!

I did buy a Josie Maran Argan skincare set from QVC online- it had everything I’d need for dry winter skin. It was an awesome value, and they let you do sort of a pay-per-month thing and I got to split up the payments over a few months, which really helped me out. If the price is right and the value is good, I’d definitely purchase from them online again. However, my usual culprits are Ulta, Sephora, the drugstore, etc.

I’ve never done it before but I won’t rule it out, despite my skepticism of it. I’ve just begun getting over my paranoia as it is with online shopping. Not to mention I’ve heard plenty of horror stories from family members and others online. Still I may give it shot. Maybe make it one of my New Year’s resolutions.

I’ve bought plenty from QVC. I got a massive kit of Mally for like half what they would cost individually. And I get Josie Maran stuff all the time.

Cathy Avatar

Yes, from QVC because it’s the only place apart from Body Shop where you can send back cosmetics even if you’ve tried it. They have an excellent thirty-day money-back guarantee. I’ve bought and sent back Benefit (Majorette was a let-down), Tarte, Mally, Judith Williams, Joan Collins, Daniel Sandler…on the plus side I’ve bought and kept Eve Lom and other great cosmetics.

Lisa Avatar

In the past I have not because I questioned any brand that would be marketed that way. More boutique brands are opting for this route, more recently Tatcha so I will take advantage of specials.

Several years ago, I used to purchase some beauty products from QVC. Back then, they used to have a lot more variety, good prices and reasonable shipping. About 3 years ago, all of their good brands departed, they increased prices and took a tremedous increase in shipping. No longer was I going to pay $8.00 shipping for a tiny tub of Smashbox gel liner!

Krista Avatar

I have! The only thing I’ve gotten is the chocolate bar from HSN because I used the $20 off coupon code. And I just got the It Cosmetics Most Radiant You collection with the Ombre blush from QVC. Sometimes they will have good deals..like Tarte foundation for the same price as sephora except they will include a brush. I like those deals!

indira Avatar

All the time! I love shopping via qvc. They have amazing deals. I still can’t get over the bow and go palette. 20 eyeshadow, two full size mascara, two full size eyeliner, and four full size lip products from tarte for $60. Best deal ever! Plus, it gives me opportunity to try other makeup companies I wouldn’t have thought of like Mally Beauty and IT Cosmetic.

Trina Avatar

Most definitely! I have got some amazing laura geller, tarte, mally, bare minerals, & too faced kits. They are usually exclusive kits so you can’t get them anywhere else. If you catch it on a special it’s cheap with payment plans and auto delivery so you get 3 or 4 more exclusive kits. The last kit I bought was from QVC by laura geller and it has the most amazing illuminator in it. It was on sale and has 3 more future kits. I check both hsn & qvc daily for their special value of the day.

zFashionizta Avatar

Yes a few. Years ago I purchased a Cover FX & a Smashbox set. This year I purchased a great set by It Cosmetics after the blogger Musings of a Muse review (Great price and I am now a big fan of their foundation, concealer and CC cream).

Katherine T. Avatar

Yes! From QVC – they have the most AWESOME kits for makeup and skincare and you can’t beat the price. I’ve love their value sets for IT Cosmetics & Peter Thomas Roth. Also tried Josie Maran, Mally, Dr. Denese, Laura Geller. The only downside is I don’t like doing returns by mail.

Yes! I have purchased beauty products from television shopping channels. I personally, think I get an amazing deal on QVC when they allow you to do an easy pay offer. Your goods are shipped immediately, and you have a few months to pay it off. I love doing this with the big kits from Laura Gellar and Philosophy and Wen. Sometimes the prices are less expensive than in Ulta or Sephora too! The “It Naturally Pretty Matte Palette” was under $40 at the Q and $42+ at Ulta. Plus they spread out my payments over two months 🙂

I’ve ordered from them and love it cause u can pay in payments and they have specials everyday but the shipping is HORRIBLE!!!!! shipping is like 3/4 weeks! By that time I forget what I oredered! Same goes for Dermastore. I ordered a ananastasia pallet 3 weeks ago now I got a email it’s on back stock! Smh

Sarita Avatar

Yes, I have. I bought one of Iman’s palettes and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, I have bought other make up that was not nearly as satisfying. Not sure when/if I’ll do that again.

Amanda Avatar

Absolutely! QVC has great brands like Bare Minerals, Josie Maran, It cosmetics, Wen, smashbox, mally, Bobbi Brown and tons more. If one of those brands have a TSV (today’s special value) you can get an awesome deal on products, and some that aren’t even released yet. They have an awesome easy pay program so you can pay in small increments rather than the whole thing at once using your debit card or whatever. The return policy is fantastic too. I believe it’s 30 days, but holidays are even longer. I have purchased from HSN too, because they had a Benefit TSV awhile back.

A long time ago I got carried away doing so.. So I don’t anymore. Haven’t for awhile, don’t think I’m allowed! Lol! I can’t stand watching the ladies talk. Sell, sell, sell.. I don’t believe a word of it though paying in small increments over a period of time was a sweet deal. UD premiered to the mass public via QVC. Weird choice.
