MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection
MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection

It wasn’t supposed to launch until October 20th, but the MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collections are available now at MAC Cosmetics, MAC Cosmetics Canada, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Saks, and Dillards. I know it’s a pretty massive launch, so here are links to what I’ve been able to review so far:

I have swatched everything, which you can find arranged here:

P.S. — You can find the Copper Face Compact (with Whisper of Gilt) at MAC, MAC CanadaMacy’s, and Belk. It appears sold out at other retailers.

I think MAC did a really good job creating an original Christmas collection. I won’t be buying anything though, as none of these colors would look good on me. This whole collection did remind me that there are few Star Trek items left, and those gorgeous new Liptensity lipsticks!

I got mine early early this morning from Nordstrom. I am so happy I saw my email when I first woke up. I NEED whisper of gilt and those lipsticks.

I hate when they do this. Who has time to stalk their site on a daily basis for a surprise release, for me the point of knowing a release date is to be able to plan ahead so that you can still go about your normal life. By the time the email popped up in my mailbox it was 2 hours after I’d scrambled to order the one item I that wanted from another retailer because it was already sold out at Mac and Nordstrom.

Me too it made me so upset today I thought about calling MAC corporate to complain. I was also planning on tomorrow and now the Whisper of Gilt compact is sold out everywhere. My local MAC store said that corporate is no longer letting them do pre-sales (wtf?!) bc they’re not allowed to take customer card info before hand for some reason now. So I have my Copper face compact plus others stuff “oh hold” until the store launch date next week…which makes me really nervous.

I ran into same thing with the EL Modern Mercury highlighter. It was sold out everywhere online, so I called my local NM store and asked if they were taking pre-sales. They said they could put my item on hold on, and me on a wait list, but they couldn’t do a pre-sale, as they can’t charge my card until they had the item to sell. I did some googling, and it appears many credit card companies don’t allow retailers to charge customers until the item ships. I think too many customers were complaining to the credit card companies and asking for refunds, because their card was being charged, and the item went out of stock and was never shipped or the retailer was too slow to ship.

Just had an interesting online chat with 2 different MAC associates. One told me that the Red Retro Matte kit was showing as available but there must be a glitch in the website because it’s not up there, and another told me that there is no such product. Wonder if anyone knows what’s going on over there . . .

That’s interesting because that’s the last item I’m looking to purchase from this collection. It’s not up on the Mac website so I’m wondering where it’s at. Any ideas Christine…..I this is exclusive to Mac online..I tried pre-ordering it from Nordstrom and they aren’t getting it. The struggle of a makeup junkie lol

it’s up now.
The pigments and most eyeliners are there too now.

Remember during Vibe Tribe collection one of the eyeshadow palettes and eyeliners took hours to be on the site.

This has happens frequently actually.

It happened during Good Luck Trolls also…. Im trying to remember when else…

I couldn’t find it Nancy online when I was searching this morning. I think will be able to purchase it in the store next week. I don’t think the line will be long like the 4-hour wait when Selena launched here.

I can’t believe they launched early and sold out of the Whisper of Gilt compact before 8:30 this morning, which is when I saw it was launched already and tried to buy online. Everywhere. MAC needs to get it together. Also, this new trend of launching early SURPRISE!!!! Is REALLY ticking me off lately. MAC, UD, seems everyone’s jumping on this trend.

Thank you SO much for letting us know, Christina! I bought several of the lipgloss kits, including my all time favorite Dazzleglass, Rags to Riches 🙂

I ended up only picking up two of the eye shadows in Forward March and Dark Lullaby. I’m really hoping Forward March is a dupe for the light peach shade in the Marc Jacobs Lines & Last Night Air Blush since no dupes were listed for that side of the blush. I really like the Plum eye kit, but I really just wanted the mauve shadow, so I might just order the regular version of it.

I was able to get Whisper of Gilt early this morning from Nordstrom. Shortly afterwards it was sold out on Macy’s, Nordstrom, and MAC’s website.
